Has anyone done a retaining wall (around a patio) to extend their useable yard space? Similar to the attached pics (from the Internet). Mostly to function as a nice sitting area...maybe with a propane or natural gas fire pit.
We have an area in the yard the is **mostly** flat. But I’d like to hire a contractor to put in either a stamped concrete patio or interlocking brick pavers. (This will add patio space that will extend off the back deck.) Since it’s not completely flat, the back portion will need a small retaining wall.
We will definitely hire a proper contractor to do the work to make sure all codes and permit requirements are met. Plus, we obviously want it to be built to last a long time.
Just wondering if anyone here has done this and what has been your experience? Anything that you did that you regret or would do differently?
