Don't let it get away. This item ends soon.

End time: 16-Jul-12 23:39:55 AEST

Too bad the listing ended last night. Luckily I don't rely on the reminders and I was the winning buyer.

I've had the very same thing - except that I did not have a winning bid in.

It's happened more than once ... so much so that I now regard the notification as an 'Item has probably ended' email.

eBay communications are usually not well-timed. Someone in the IT department should be stepping up to take responsibility for this particular problem. At least it's not the worst communication problem... since as you say, most of us don't rely on eBay telling us when a watched item is about to end. (I am reasonably sure I set my preferences not to receive such notifications, since I have a Don-Giovanni's-Conquests-type list of watched items... as in, long.
