Fuel Prices
« on: March 23, 2012, 06:35:46 PM »
Keep informed about where to get the cheapest fuel.

Please indicate name of petrol station, address, type of fuel, time you saw the fuel price, and the fuel price - that sort of thing.

Caltex cnr Wantirna rd and Boronia rd Wantirna , you  only have to donate 1 liver and you get 10 litres

an arm and a leg + the liver gets you a tank fill on a 4cyl

There one servo down the road who actually pay you to fill up there if you wear fancy dress
They really liked my get up of wearing a baaclava and carrying a sawn off shotgun

They gave  the entire days take

Unleaded around the $1.20 per litre mark
Gold around $1228 usd an oz

i seem to recall that 5 or 6 years ago a certain doom and gloom clown
Started a thread on ebay forums declaing petrol would be $2 a litre and gold $2000 per ounce
Within 2 years and continue to rise ...( neither have ever got really close )  He sucked many people in with his ridiculous predictions , hell he even had people bulk buying and storing groceries in panic  ... He wouldnt hear of his predictions being incorrect
So here we are more than 5 years down the track .... So stick this in your pipe and smoke it
if you you crawl out from under your rock or from your underground bunker and read this

Holy Gruyère!

It was 122.7 at my local Caltex (118.7 with the 4 cent / litre discount, but I THINK they must have given me a higher discount for some reason as when I was adding it all up later, it seemed to me that the discount was actually 10 cents per litre...).

I thought that was a very nice price. My beautiful car is purring along nicely.

99c a litre in Western Sydney
this price could become common around Australia
in the next few days .... Although as its Christmas
expect the normal theft from servo's and no doubt they will load it to about $1.25
some days , but if the price of oil doesnt go back up shortly
99c a litre or less could/should be common for a few weeks at least

Our dollar is about as strong as a Victorian jelly at the moment.

In other words, don't hang your hopes upon it; don't expect it to support you over a gorge; and stop poking it because the wretched thing is wobbling...

Unleaded for well and truly OVER a dollar litre in Melbourne.

In fact, it's over 140 cents per litre. Ridiculous.

Hasn't been under $1 a litre for years up in Sydney .... unless someone is doing a protest special - like 99 cents per litre or fill your tank for $1.

The traffic problems these stunts cause are not pleasant.

I use the 7-Eleven Fuel app, and lock in the lowest price I can find just before the price is due to go up.

I also use the ACCC Petrol price cycles page on my iPhone, which shows me when fuel prices are coming down, and when they are nearing the next increase.

I suppose I should fill up, even though I still have about half a tank left.

I had 1.29 locked in as the fuel price. I just filled up again, and saved $17.56.

Last Thursday ..... Price at local servos dropped backed to a reasonable $139.9
My tank was so empty that the needle was bending so I pulled in and put 30 bucks worth in ...

I had to go to point cook. ...about 35km on the other side of town ...guess what as I pulled off the freeway the first servo I saw it was $129.9 ...I thought ...hmmmmmm that's a bastard ....as I was beyond the point if no return to buy more at the 10c a litre Jess ....well buggar  me dead a couple of km down the road Ibsee $127.7 .....so after Indone my business in Point cook , I stopped on the way out and filled up at $127.9
12 c a litre cheaper than those hear me and 42c a litre cheaper than some others I saw that day ...
My locals have still only come down to 136.9 ...why or how can some sell it so much cheaper than others ...
My local is an independent and they are usually as cheap as you can get ...yet on the other side of bridge it's so much cheaper ....someone is pulling our pissers
