Twitter Files Reveal Trump Ban Came After Michelle Obama, Others Pressured the Company

The latest release of internal Twitter correspondence indicate former First Lady Michelle Obama was instrumental in banning former President Trump.

Elon Musk and journalist Michael Shellenberger released the fourth installment of the “Twitter Files” Saturday. The communications reveal conversations of company executives between Jan. 6 and 8, 2021.

Among the files, Shellenberger reported “internal and external pressure,” including from the former first lady, fell onto the company calling for Trump to be banned from using Twitter.

“Now is the time for Silicon Valley companies to stop enabling this monstrous behavior—and go even further than they have already by permanently banning this man from their platforms and putting in place policies to prevent their technologies from being used by the nation’s leaders to fuel insurrection,” Obama wrote in a lengthy statement posted to Twitter on Jan. 7.

She added: “And if we have any hope of improving this nation, now is the time for swift and serious consequences for the failure of leadership that led to yesterday’s shame.”

In addition to the former first lady, the Anti-Defamation League, among several other prominent people and organizations called for Trump’s ban.

On the morning of Jan. 7, then-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey wrote an email to employees instructing them, as Shellenberger wrote: “to remain consistent in its policies, including the right of users to return to Twitter after a temporary suspension.”

Trump was serving a suspension on the platform at the time.

The files also showed Twitter maintained a policy — called “Public-interest exceptions” — where elected officials were not banned as there was a great public interest in their comments, even if they seemed to violate other policies.

While Trump’s temporary suspension was lifted, this second policy was specifically and intentionally ignored in Trump’s case, Shellenberger reported. Dorsey was also on vacation at the time of Trump’s ban.

“Dorsey was on vacation in French Polynesia the week of January 4-8, 2021,” Shellenberger reported. The chief executive delegated much of the responsibility to senior executives, including former Twitter Head of Trust and Safety Yoel Roth and former Head of Legal, Policy, & Trust Vijaya Gadde, who Shellenberger points out were “overwhelmingly progressive.”

“In 2018, 2020, and 2022, 96%, 98%, & 99% of Twitter staff’s political donations went to Democrats,” Shellenberger reported. 

Shellenberger also reported: “In 2017, Roth tweeted that there were ‘ACTUAL NAZIS IN THE WHITE HOUSE.’”

“Twitter employees recognize the difference between their own politics & Twitter’s Terms of Service (TOS), but they also engage in complex interpretations of content in order to stamp out prohibited tweets,” Shellenberger also pointed out.

A day after Dorsey’s email, Trump was permanently suspended for how his posts were being “received and interpreted.”

After Musk purchased Twitter and took over as its chief executive, Trump’s access to the platform was restored. Trump has yet to resume control of his account, however, and has previously told Fox News Digital that he intends to remain on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Fauci Comes Clean, Admits Misinformation For Political Reasons

Last week, Anthony Fauci, the US National Institute of Health's director of the COVID-19 virus response, revealed that one of the reasons why he repeatedly shot down theories about the virus' origin was due to his desire not to create tensions between the US and China.

According to a report by the Washington Free Beacon, Anthony Fauci, the director of NIAID, discussed his concerns about the allegations that China deliberately created and released the coronavirus during a deposition held as part of a lawsuit filed by Louisiana and Missouri Attorneys General. He also said that the Wuhan Institute of Virology could have accidentally released the virus as well.

According to Fauci, he was afraid that the Chinese would interpret his statements as an attempt to blame the country for the outbreak. This would only increase tensions between the two countries. “There was no evidence of that at the time, and that’s what I was concerned about,” Fauci continued.

Despite the various government agencies and organizations that refused to entertain the idea of a lab leak as the cause of the COVID-19 pandemic, the evidence clearly pointed to this as the most likely explanation. This is more than the other theories that were presented at the time, such as the emergence of the virus in a wet market in Wuhan.

Fauci and NIAID have come under fire due to their past support for research projects that the WIV was involved in. These projects may have contributed to the development of the virus.

The lawsuit filed by the attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana claims that the Biden Administration coordinated with various tech companies to suppress information about the COVID-19 pandemic. These included debunking the effectiveness of the vaccines, raising awareness about the negative effects of the vaccines, and discussing the lab leak theory.

Despite his insistence that he had never coordinated with tech companies about censorship, Fauci admitted that his daughter worked for Twitter until last year.

Critics have contended that the new approach preys on disabled and impoverished Canadians who may see assisted suicide as their only option, but the criticism has already been quieted since Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau froze the bank accounts of anyone who spoke out against his regime's policies in the comments section of the healthcare website's blog, or on Twitter, or elsewhere.

At publishing time, the burden on Canada's healthcare system was further alleviated when Parliament announced that the policy would retroactively apply to people who had already been admitted for 10 prior hospital visits.

5 Tips To Prevent ‘Holiday Burnout’

Tip #1: Welcome the chaos.

Accept that you will experience stress — and don’t worry about it too much.

Sure, long-term stress is unhealthy… but occasionally feeling overwhelmed isn’t the end of the world.

In fact, some stress is actually healthy for you.

Our bodies are not only designed for challenge, they’re built to thrive under the right amount of adversity.

So accept or even enjoy the ‘holiday madness’ — and embrace it as part of the overall experience…

And don’t let the idea of stress become the cause of it.

Tip #2: Slow down.

Especially during the holidays, our brains can feel so full of thoughts that it’s hard to focus.

“I have to get those shoes Betty wanted from Macy’s before they run out of them!”

“Oh! I can’t forget to order Josh’s shirt, or it’ll never arrive in time!”

“Oh no! I still haven’t sent Courtney and Max their Christmas cards! Will they get them before Christmas?”

When this mental chaos starts brewing in your head, here’s what I want you to do:

Slow down — literally.

Slow down your breath, move at a slower pace, and avoid multitasking.

Then, take a few breaths.

Slow, deep breaths can help lower blood pressure and heart rate, and calm the sympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the fight or flight response.

Here’s a quick and very effective yogic breathing technique you can try:

Alternate-nostril breathing to instantly banish stress:
Exhale completely and use your thumb to close your right nostril.
Inhale through the left nostril and then close the left nostril with your fingers.
Open the right nostril and exhale through this side.
Inhale through the right nostril and then close this nostril.
Open the left nostril and exhale through the left side.
Repeat two or more times.
It may take a few breaths to get the hang of it…

But once you learn this technique, you’ll see how wonderfully it works — and you’ll have another excellent science-backed tool for combating stress in your arsenal.

Tip #3: Move your body.

Hands down, the best antidote to stress ever discovered is moving your body.

Exercise releases ‘feel-good hormones’ in your body — and science shows it can even produce the same chemical reaction in your brain as an antidepressant.2

And you don’t have to go crazy either! You don’t need a gym membership, exercise program, fancy equipment, long workouts, or any of that.

If you ask me, it’s much better to just move continuously throughout the day, and fit in small bursts of vigorous movement whenever you can.

It could be doing squats (deep knee bends) while brushing your teeth…

Taking a short walk after dinner…

Parking your car a little further up the street…

Taking the stairs instead of the elevator…

You can even get some movement in while you’re shopping! If you’re stressed out at the mall, do a 15-minute power walk, then resume shopping.

The point is to just move around whenever you can.

It’s really the best way to stay mentally and physically at the top of your game any time of year.

Tip #4: Do something kind for a stranger.

The evidence is clear: When you do nice things for others… it makes YOU feel good, too.3,4

It can be as simple as holding a door open for someone… helping another person put something in their shopping cart… or just initiating small talk with another shopper.

I think you’ll find simple interactions like these really brighten your mood and make you feel more connected with others — especially during the holidays.

For example: Next time you’re out getting a cup of coffee, smile and greet the barista with a “Hi, how are you?”

Aim to do this year-round, of course…

But it can really make a difference during the holidays — when almost all of us are facing at least some stress.

Tip #5: Do something kind for yourself.

Shopping for gifts or making gifts, making sure the house is clean, preparing the food, making sure presents are wrapped and ready to be opened…

The act of giving gets so much attention during the holidays, it can be easy to forget to give back to yourself.

So remember to set aside time to do things YOU enjoy, that refill your own batteries.

Whether it’s making your favorite meal…

Binge watching your favorite show…

Taking a bath…

Whatever ‘rekindles your spark’ — do it!

After all, the only way to take care of others is to take care of yourself first.

Rivers are critical corridors that connect cities and ecosystems alike. When drought develops, water levels fall, making river navigation harder and more expensive.

In 2022, water levels in some of the world’s largest rivers, including the Rhine in Europe and the Yangtze in China, fell to historically low levels. The Mississippi River fell so low in Memphis, Tennessee, in mid-October that barges were unable to float, requiring dredging and special water releases from upstream reservoirs to keep channels navigable.

NORTH POLE — Elon Musk finalized the purchase of Santa's Workshop this week and immediately released internal e-mails which show how the naughty and nice lists were created.

"After buying Twitter I wanted to try my hand at supporting a cause I really believed in," said Musk of his recent purchase. "But after finding out reindeer can't live in sub-arctic temperatures I decided to do some digging and find out what else they've been lying about."

An in-depth report, slowly revealed as fast as reporter Matt Taibbi could tweet, has revealed key conversations between Santa and his elves that demonstrate a lack of concern for personal privacy and human rights issues. The findings also confirm Santa Claus, who was previously said to make toys for all the world's children with the aid of Christmas magic, actually funds the whole operation by blackmailing wealthy politicians.

"The more I learn, the worse it gets," Musk tweeted just hours after gaining access to Santa's web servers. "The world should know the truth of what has been happening at the north pole."

Musk had initially tried to back out of the deal, citing a lack of transparency by Santa Claus.

Elon's subsequent trips to the North Pole have also provided much-needed context surrounding Musk's infamous "devil's champion" outfit, which he says was never a fun Halloween costume. Sources now confirm it to be custom-made armor designed to withstand attacks from the mystical elvish people who are indigenous to the region. It is also well suited to sub-arctic temperatures.

At publishing time, the tooth fairy has adjusted her tooth-currency exchange for inflation, presumably spooked by the revelations of impropriety at Santa's Workshop.

Cambridge Dictionary Changes The Definition Of 'Definition'

CAMBRIDGE — In an effort to get ahead of the ever-changing definitions of commonly used words due to evolving societal norms, the Cambridge Dictionary has announced that it has changed the definition of the word "definition."

"Whereas in the past, the term ‘definition' would, in fact, provide a very clear understanding of the actual meaning of a word, we can simply no longer inflexibly define what a definition is," said Cambridge University Professor Reginald Binghamton-Wallace in a statement regarding the landmark change. "Defining ‘definition' would potentially limit words to having actual meaning, which is no longer possible today."

The announcement was met with a mixture of confusion and uncertainty regarding the impact this would have across both academia and the general public. "So we're not even allowed to have definitions of words because the word ‘definition' isn't defined the same anymore?" asked Nashville singer-songwriter Kenny Carter when asked for comment. "What does anything mean anymore? Does anything mean anything? Or does nothing mean anything? Who am I? What is existence?"

Key decision makers at Cambridge University Press reportedly made the change in a bid to compete with the progressiveness of other popular dictionaries from Miriam-Webster and Oxford University. "We can't allow ourselves to be out-progressed," Professor Binghamton-Wallace said. "This is definitely a contest."

At publishing time, the dictionary makers were also believed to be engaged in discussions regarding adopting a new "Choose Your Own Definition" feature to potentially incorporate into its future editions, although it was at that point unclear what a "definition" was.

Large pond dam breach causes water surge down stream

March 7, 2022 just after noon this pond damn breaks after a rain storm passes. The water level keeps rising until it tops the bad area of this dam. The cause of this is Muskrats and Beavers over the years that chewed the pipes up. Those pipes have been in place for 30 years. We had 6 of them and 4 washed out down stream. I will get the ones that washed away when the water goes down. I plan on making a new spillway out of concrete. Will also be digging many years of leaf rot and silt out.

Jean-Pierre Says Musk’s Condemnation Of Fauci Is ‘Dangerous’

In an interview with reporters on Monday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that billionaire Elon Musk’s public condemnation of top U.S. health official Anthony Fauci was both “dangerous” and “disgusting” and must be addressed.

Over the weekend, Musk tweeted: “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci.” The tweet quickly became viral, and Musk followed up with another tweet that read, “Truth resonates.”

On Monday, Jean-Pierre said the tweets “are disgusting, and they are divorced from reality, and we will continue to call that out and be very clear about that.” Following this, she praised Fauci for his handling of public health crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is reported that Fauci will retire in Dec. as President Biden’s top medical adviser and chief U.S. infectious diseases official. He has dealt with many challenging questions surrounding health crises around the world, from HIV/AIDS to avian flu and Ebola, during his time as a top official. He has served as an adviser to seven presidents of the United States, beginning with the Republican Ronald Reagan, and has been involved in public service for over 50 years.

Over 1 million COVID-19 deaths have been recorded in the United States. There is virtually no doubt that his handling of COVID – and the questionable remarks he made from the White House podium regarding the need for Americans to change their behavior in light of the pandemic – made him a hero to the left and an antagonist to some on the right.

Fauci has stated in the past that he has received death threats. Trump has criticized him as well as several conservatives who objected to safeguards that he advocated, such as vaccinations, social distancing, and masking. He claimed these safeguards were necessary. As a result of this, the Republicans have indicated they intend to investigate Fauci for the information that he provided concerning COVID-19 in the upcoming Congress.

You all have been so helpful lately! What kind of heat source does everyone in Baldwin lake use? No natural gas hook ups so right now we are running electric floor/wall units in every room. Takes a lot of time to heat up the house and costs a FORTUNE! Not to mention they seem like a real fire hazard. Any creative ideas for heat?

You don't have a propane tank on your property for an in-house heater? Electric heaters are expensive the Terracotta planter heat thing is pretty much a joke it will warm up a bathroom and that's about it. I would recommend a possible indoor kerosene heater or a Buddy Heater I think they're called Mr Heat. And they can use propane bottles probably a lot less expensive than running electric heaters. I've looked at a kerosene heater on Amazon I think it was $149 $150. And it says that they can be used indoors. I'll see if I can find the link on Amazon for you for both the Buddy Heater and the kerosene.

Mike Moore thank you! Nope we don’t.. yet. It’s just a vacation home and my parents always avoided it during the coldest months. Now that I’m older I use it a lot (I’m also super into snowboarding) so I tend to come up when the coldest storms come through.. and I’m killing them with the electric bill. I’ll look into the propane option! Thanks!

Olivia Elise Yeary we live down in Lucerne Valley it get kinda cold here too. I bought a Mr. Buddy heater this year. We are waiting for our mini split to be installed. It's working good. It heats up my living room kitchen and bathroom. I close up the bedrooms. I don't run it when we aren't home or when we are sleeping.

Ron Tello Culley I've known hundreds of people that bring them up here to go camping and use them in their tent like they were designed to be done at high altitudes which is where most camping seems to be done. Maybe you have a defective Mr Heater.

Propane. There are companies that will provide you a tank for a rental fee, then fill it periodically. Check with the three companies that serve the area.
Amerigas (the company I use) has varied pricing. I pay a subscription fee; they set my gas price at the beginning of the season. Some people not part of the subscription plan pay a lot more. Some of them also have to call in to request refills. I read my meter myself, and post updates to my account page on the web. They automatically come fill the tank whenever I post a reading below 30 percent.
My furnace, oven, and water heater are propane. I do have a wood stove and electric space heaters, too.

Olivia Elise Yeary we are full time. During the summer we used nearly nothing. We filled the tank at the beginning over November 40% to 85% and had to fill it again last week about the same amount. 288 gallon tank. So I think we used about 45-50% in a month first month of winter.

When we were on propane only and not natural gas we had a forced air heater and a wood burning stove. We would set the heater to 55 so the pipes wouldn't freeze and the appliances wouldn't get too cold and we would use the stove to heat the house. If you learn how to use a wood stove properly you can heat a big 2 story house with one. I've also heard a lot of good things about pellet stoves. Not sure which would be more expensive to operate but any of these options would be better than electric wall heaters

Olivia Elise Yeary if I recall I had a 600 gallon tank and it would last me about 6 to 8 months, longer if I kept the heater from kicking on in the winter time. There were 6 of us living full time in the house and I used the wood stove as my primary source of heat, the only time the heater would kick on would be if the house dropped below 55

I haven't actually tried this but saw it in a DIY craft group, large Terra cotta planters with the holes in them for watering, place on cinder blocks and put a large ( safe ) candle, preferably in a glass jar, underneath. Supposed to heat the planter… See more
