:tello: " My Big Bear Winter 2022>

Not different than years before.

Daytime highs in the mid 30s.
Overnight lows starting at 12 and dropping.

Dark at 5:30 PM...
Without a timepiece, you will notice that life is Midnight for the longest time.
And it fuocks with the Head.

Night Owls rejoice, wearing Thermals.

Then there's angry Snowmen, criminal snowball gangs, drivers without snow chains.

There's early release of the Raccoons into the territory; children cry, women scream and Daddy is at The Pub.

I'm drinking with him right now.
It's the best way, at the moment, to survive Winter 2022, Big Pussy, California. "

Breaking: White House Trying To DOWNPLAY Bombshell Report

Jean-Pierre Says Revelations In ‘Twitter Files’ Are Old News

The whole point of revealing the ‘Twitter Files’ was to unveil old news that former Twitter executives and government officials purposefully suppressed to promote a political agenda. So, it’s unsurprising that White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is using the term “old news” to deflect from the importance of the suppression at play.

The Tangled Twitter Web Gets Messier Every Day

Tucker Carlson had on columnist Miranda Devine from the New York Post to discuss the Twitter Files saga on his show Tucker Carlson Tonight last Friday.

Devine is what you could call an expert on the Hunter Biden laptop story. In fact, she researched and vetted the contents and even wrote a book about it, “Laptop from Hell: Hunter Biden, Big Tech, and the Dirty Secrets the President Tried to Hide.”

Considering the administration never acknowledged the story as “news” at all, it seems unfair to now say it’s old.

Biden Administration Deems Twitter Files ‘Old News’

It was the moment conservatives had been waiting for, the release of what we all have known to be true for years. The release of the Twitter Files was exciting and felt like justice was going to finally be served.

The “news” wasn’t anything conservatives didn’t already know. It’s just that the rest of the world labeled anyone who dared to say there was censorship a tin-foil-hat-wearing lunatic.
According to the left, censorship didn’t exist and the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation. The Twitter Files have provided in-your-face evidence that both statements are false.

The administration realizes that any minion they might have had at Twitter is now irrelevant since the company was purchased by billionaire Elon Musk in October who has vowed to promote something they’re terrified of: free speech.

House Republicans Vote Overwhelmingly to Abandon Any Pretense of Fiscal Responsibility

December 10, 2022

Congress has a longstanding, bipartisan addiction to spending. The federal debt and annual deficits are prime examples of how deep the problem is.

But another, more insidious version that Republicans, at least, had sworn off was earmarks, those gateway drugs tucked inside spending bills that helped a favored few at the expense of everyone else.

At its recent meeting to set policies and rules for their new House majority, Republicans overwhelmingly voted to embrace earmarks. As The Wall Street Journal’s Kim Strassel writes, it was yet more proof that Republicans are no more serious about spending control than Democrats. But it’s the hypocrisy that makes them worse:

The vote came despite a vigorous campaign by independent conservative groups. “Earmarks are one of the most corrupt, inequitable, and wasteful practices in the history of Congress,” read a letter signed by representatives of 15 groups, including Heritage Action, Club for Growth, FreedomWorks, Americans for Tax Reform and Citizens Against Government Waste. The groups told lawmakers it was “your first opportunity to demonstrate to taxpayers that the election of a Republican majority in the House will be accompanied by a serious effort to restore and maintain fiscal responsibility.” So much for that.

The reason earmarks are so dear to politicians? It’s free money as far as individual members are concerned. The tax dollars they are able to steer back home make them look like they are “delivering” for the voters. Strassel notes the logic behind earmarks – or the more common term “pork barrel spending” – is that members have a constitutional duty to spend money. Leaving spending decisions to the president and bureaucracy is an abdication of their constitutional duty.

Strassel says this is “hilarious, considering that the GOP continues to cede all spending decisions to the administration outside the isolated pork members siphon back home.”

The payoff for pork though can be mighty tasty. It’s also easy and fun, unlike oversight, which requires a lot of work and:

…isn’t nearly as much fun as grandstanding as a constitutionalist while bagging $1 million for the St. Louis Symphony (Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt) or $650,000 for feral swine management (Arkansas Sen. John Boozman) or $4.2 million for a sheep experiment station (Idaho Rep. Mike Simpson).

Remember that the next time a Republican begins railing against government waste. Chances are, those paladins of fiscal responsibility are among the biggest pork barrel spenders on Capitol Hill.

Twitter used ‘vast array of tools’ to throttle Trump’s account even before Jan. 6, docs reveal

Twitter deployed a “vast array of tools” to limit the impact of former President Donald Trump on the platform, even before the company decided to ban him following the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, according to journalist Matt Taibbi, citing internal Twitter documents Friday.

Democrats Push Gun Control Under Guise Of Suicide Prevention

Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee advanced a bill on Wednesday designed to further curtail Americans’ rights protected by the Second Amendment. The legislation uses suicide prevention as a vehicle for creating a list of citizens maintained by the federal government who say they want to voluntarily be blocked from making firearms purchases.

Twitter Files Part III: Twitter Worked In Coordination With U.S. Government To Censor Content During 2020 Election

The third installment of the so-called “Twitter Files” released Friday night showed that federal agencies were in contact with Twitter during the 2020 presidential election and were involved in censoring content on the platform.

‘I Knew This Was Happening’: Latest Twitter Tranche Exposes How Woke Creeps Controlled Conversation

Twitter wasn’t as bad as conservatives feared when it came to silencing voices its social justice commandos didn’t like.

It was far, far worse.

The latest “Twitter Files” dump, live-tweeted Thursday night by independent journalist Bari Weiss, revealed that a secret cabal regularly scurried from yoga rooms and omelette stations, plastic cups of cabernet in hand, to suppress free thought whenever it dared invade the woke platform. The built-in rules designed to silence conservatives could only go so far; muzzling critical thinkers who didn’t overtly violate them required black operations.

“We control visibility quite a bit,” an engineer told Weiss. “And we control the amplification of your content quite a bit. And normal people do not know how much we do.”

IRS Agents Slide Down Chimneys Looking For Gifts Of $600 Or More
Dec 9, 2022 · BabylonBee.com

MUNCIE, IN — IRS agents kicked off a new holiday tradition this week as they began nationwide canvassing of taxpayers' homes, sliding down their chimneys in search of undeclared gifts worth $600 or more.

Terrence Poole, Special Agent in Charge of Joy-Quashing, explained the agency's actions, saying, "We understand that people get caught up in the spirit of the season and all that. But we want to be a constant reminder that celebrating the birth of the Savior of the universe is not more important than giving an account to the government for every single thing you have."

The Jackson family of Muncie were initially surprised to find the black-suited agents pouring out of their chimney and ripping open their presents, but became cooperative after father Ben Jackson was given an explanation and a brief sleeper hold. "Yeah, I guess it's our patriotic duty or something," said Mr. Jackson after regaining consciousness.

Agents will be searching homes during the entire holiday season. Agent Poole continued, "We'll usually be entering through the chimney. For homes that don't have a chimney, we'll either be sending a magic elf through the keyhole or else using an armored personnel carrier equipped with a battering ram to breach a convenient wall. Yeah, one of those. Probably the second one."

Asked if the agents had faced any difficulties with their searches so far, Agent Poole said, "It was a little embarrassing one time when we ended up in Sam Bankman-Fried's house. We just apologized and backed out slowly. I'm sure he's got nothing important to declare."

The legacy of the late Walt Disney, its films, books, and theme parks have captivated fans of the franchise for decades. Many travel across the globe to see their favorite characters and to spend a day on the ever-evolving attractions and eat the overpriced themed food.

Now, the beloved “Splash Mountain” of Walt Disney World is closing after 33 years in operation due to wokeness.

Themed after the 1946 Disney film “Song of the South,” the log ride opened in 1989 and takes riders through various parts of the film as they get soaked with water. While none of the “racial stereotypes” are visible during the ride, many feel as though they are still prevalent with the cartoon characters from the film being prominently featured.

Disney CEO Bob Iger spoke about the ride during a March 2020 shareholders meeting that came in the wake of a 2019 petition through change.org that served to denounce the film and proposed the ride be shut down. “I’ve felt, as long as I’ve been CEO, that ‘Song of the South’ was – even with a disclaimer – was just not appropriate in today’s world.”

That petition received just over 21,000 signatures. Meanwhile, Disney addicts started a petition begging them to keep the ride as is and gathered over 100,000 signatures to support the idea that wokeness is not the answer. As the petition explained this was about doing what is right, not what is popular.

“Splash Mountain has never included depictions of slaves or any racist elements and is based solely on historical African folktales that families of all ethnicities have been enjoying for nearly a century. Modifying Splash Mountain will not change history and will only encourage the ‘easily offended’ to continue making desperate attempts at finding offense in additional attractions. To change them would be to remove a bit of our art history from the world and to be ashamed of it.”

Sadly, Disney is yet again bending the knee and kissing the ring for the woke crowd. Instead, they will now do the same thing they have been doing with movies and other attractions over the years and make it into another politically purified attraction. This reimagining of the ride will now be based on “The Princess and The Frog,” which is a cartoon featuring a black heroine named Tiana who is from New Orleans.

Named “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” the new ride promises to be more inclusive of all park attendants and will seek to create yet another space where the Disney corporation is erasing history because a few people try to find problems where none exist. They think the new theme of the attraction will inspire people and speak to the millions of people who visit the Florida-based park every year.

The abomination of descendants, shareholders, and CEOs of the Disney corporation should be ashamed. If you’ve ever been to the park, you have seen people of all ages, races, and sexes on this log ride. People loved it as it was. If you’ve ever seen the film itself you would struggle to find “racism” anywhere in the film, and this log ride was no different. The folks from Disney have instead focused on the idea of trying to force white guilt on everyone who enjoyed the ride, but they will still gladly take your money for you to come to ride it.

Even stranger yet is the lack of changes to “It’s a Small World.” This ride is full of racial and cultural stereotypes and features a song of the same name as animatronics of kids across the globe dance and sing. If you’ve ever been stuck on the ride, you know why that song has been used as an interrogation tactic. And yet it stays.

Perhaps Disney could fix ticket prices instead of making rides woke?

"Duck and Cover" is BACK!

Is nuclear war an imminent threat?

In recent American history, there have been times when we all believed that our actions would bring the end of humanity as we know it due to nuclear war. The Cuban missile crisis in 1962 was one of these moments, and with the recent invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the topic of nuclear war was once more brought to people’s attention by the media.

In fact, a little-known fact is that most of today’s preppers are part of the generation that started making preparations for nuclear war back in the ’60s. American families took action back then, and they built bunkers and made other preparations to survive “nuclear winter”. For the last five decades or so, the world has changed, not necessarily for the better, and it seemed that this worst-case scenario was left in the past.

While most of us still question our world’s future, it seems that for the current generation, nuclear war is mostly a Hollywood movie script, and all they know about this type of war comes mostly from myths surrounding this topic. Many of these myths and unknowns usually cause confusion amongst the population, and it’s better to get a little more insight into the matter to know what we should expect if a nuclear holocaust occurs.

Myths surrounding nuclear wars
When people hear words like “nuclear war” and “atomic bomb,” they often believe that there’s no survival and that it’s a total apocalypse. This is a dangerous belief because it makes people feel useless, and they end up doing nothing to prepare for such a disaster.

They believe that the entire United States would be destroyed by nuclear fallout, and there’s nothing they can do about it. In fact, that’s a wrong assumption because it would be impossible for a country to use its entire nuclear arsenal. Some of their nuclear weapons and their delivery systems may not work, be down for maintenance, or they simply won’t be in a favorable position to fire.

Also, we have to acknowledge that not everyone on the world’s map will like nuclear war, so if one country does decide to use it, there’s no guarantee that other countries will retaliate, leading to mutually assured destruction. If nukes will start flying and everyone bombs each other, there won’t be anyone left; there will be no winners.

How many nuclear weapons are out there, and how practical are they?
After WWII, our country started building a large nuclear arsenal as it was competing with the Soviet Union. This went on for years, and the British, French, Chinese, and other nations joined the movement. It is estimated that at some point, there were over 60,000 nuclear warheads spread across the globe. With the help of various international treaties, that number was reduced to about 16,000. Even if this number may seem lower, there are still more than enough nuclear weapons to destroy the  entire world.

Our country got better at making nuclear weapons, and just like other nations, we started making them smaller and smaller. We’ve come a long way from the delivery system used in WWII when bombs had to be dropped, and nowadays, we can even equip satellites with nuclear payloads.

A little know fact is that North Korea has launched satellites that they claim would be used for communication purposes, but their polar orbit would suggest otherwise. Nobody knows what they are, but one thing is certain, if they were communication satellites, they should have been in an equatorial orbit.

Nuclear warheads have been optimized so much that they can be fitted into 155mm projectile shells. Besides constant optimization, there are also massive nuclear bombs that can cause incredible devastation, and these can be equipped on intercontinental missile systems, submarines, and even drones.

Will a nuclear attack come from a nuclear superpower or a terrorist organization?
While the initial showoff muscle routine after WWII was between the United States and the Soviet Union, more and more nations joined the club as time passed. The problem with so many nations having nuclear arsenals is that terrorist organizations could have access to these weapons by stealing or buying them. If they end up getting their hands on a nuclear device, they would be able to launch/detonate it as an act of terrorism. Nothing is off the table when it comes to terrorist attacks.

While an all-out nuclear attack from one of the nuclear superpowers is often the most plausible scenario when debating the topic of nuclear war, a terrorist organization or rouge country releasing a dirty bomb is considered by many military experts the most probable scenario.

Such an attack will cause incredible psychological damage, and that is what these groups are after. Striking fear in the minds and hearts of people and making them feel uncertain about their future is the main goal of these organizations.

The good thing is that getting their hands on radioactive material is very difficult, and it would be quite hard to sneak such material into a country to build a bomb. To succeed, they would have to source the material locally and build the nuclear device on-site.

People believe that the ISIS group is history, but they are still highly organized and capable of causing trouble. They may be on the run, but they are far from being a thing of the past. They are still a threat, and there are many other hostile nations or terror groups out there. Hezbollah is also a threat, but we don’t fear them because they would probably attack Israel if they ever got their hands on such a device.

Some fear that Russia, after failing to conquer Ukraine, will result to using nuclear weapons as a final act, but such an action would trigger a massive military response, and things may escalate to such a degree that no one wants to put this theory to the test.

Which form of nuclear attack is the most probable against the United States?
There are two kinds of risks we need to consider. The first big risk is the large nuclear arsenal of Russia, China, and the United States. All three countries will use nuclear weapons preemptively if they believe they will be attacked. False launches, which may not be deliberate actions, are the potential that can create the circumstances where we would be forced to launch a nuclear weapon. This is one of my biggest fears, and I believe that something unintentional can lead to nuclear war, seeing the very large nuclear arsenals which are still in operation today.

The second big risk is the use of a dirty bomb which contains a precise amount of radioactive materials encased around an explosive charge. It’s not an atomic bomb, but it can destroy an entire city block, and the worst thing comes after. If such a bomb contains enough enriched plutonium or uranium, the radioactivity will make areas uninhabitable. Some people will die from the blast, while others will die from the radioactivity, which may take weeks or years for the effects to be noticed. The use of such devices in strategic areas of interest could cripple our country.

Are we prepared against a nuclear attack?
Back in the ’50s, there were designated places for people to go in case a nuclear attack happened, and civil defense was very active. Unfortunately, we don’t have much of that anymore since people believe a nuclear holocaust is not a high probability.

While preppers and those following this movement are more prepared, the general public lacks even basic notions of emergency preparedness, let alone nuclear war preparation. The national defense missile system has gotten better, but even so, it’s far from perfect. We are spending a lot of money building defenses, but our enemies are spending their resources to find ways to tear them down.

The somehow reassuring news is that we are more advanced in counterintelligence today than we were during September 11. We are more sophisticated in this regard, and we are getting better at intelligence. Even so, we can’t say this is a failproof method, and we can never say that we are prepared enough to counter a nuclear attack.

How can the average folks survive a nuclear attack?
There are people investing in doomsday bunkers, and while that can be a good measure concerning the current topic, we also have to understand that this may not be the right approach unless, of course, money is no problem for you.

These bunkers can protect a family inside a blast zone, but outside of it, they won’t be necessary. So if you consider buying or building such a bunker, do so if you live near potential bomb targets. If you live outside the blast zone of a potential target, your home can protect you from nuclear fallout as long as you find ways to secure the windows and doors.

Keep some potassium iodide pills on hand since radioactive iodide is present in the nuclear fallout, and these pills are effective against it by filling your body with regular iodide that blocks the radioactive iodide from entering your system.

Just like with everything in life, information is key, and people need to learn how to separate fact from fiction when it comes to nuclear war, dirty bombs, and everything surrounding this topic. If people feel that there’s nothing they can do to prepare for such a scenario, they will leave things to chance, and that’s it.

If they can’t build a shelter, they should at least inform themselves and figure out what they can use as shelter to survive the blast and its aftermath. They should stay in those shelters for 12 to 24 hours until it’s declared safe to come out. It is estimated that they would have about 20 minutes to get inside a shelter after the initial blast, and they don’t necessarily need a bunker to stay safe. A building with thick walls or a basement would suffice in most cases. If everyone knew this and practiced it, we could reduce fatalities by up to 50 percent.

Getting a Geiger counter or something else to measure radiation, but also putting up a Faraday cage to protect your needed electronics are also inexpensive preps that can help. Acquiring a HAM radio and putting it in the Faraday cage becomes a must if you believe nuclear war will happen because it will become the main method of communication once the internet is gone.

Acquiring and storing food and water is, of course, mandatory, but if you are a prepper or preparedness like-minded, you’ve already made such preparation. You should make sure your bug-out bag and bug-out vehicle are ready at all times, and you should be able to carry whatever you believe would make your survival successful.

Concluding
A nuclear attack, contrary to the general belief, is definitely survivable if you’re not located at ground zero. Without a doubt, we can say that life would be more difficult after such an attack, but with a little hope and prepping, you can survive it.

The world has changed, and so have the geopolitical conflicts that separate nations. While a nuclear holocaust was recently brought, once again, to everyone’s radar due to the aggressive actions of Russia and the provocations of North Korea, this threat was never really gone. Do your best to inform yourself and make the necessary preparation to survive a nuclear threat.

BOMBSHELL: Musk Reveals Censorship Collaboration Between
Twitter Execs, Federal Agencies

New Twitter CEO Elon Musk has released the third installment of the “Twitter Files,” this time revealing that executives at the social media company had personally met with federal agencies numerous times, and that the FBI was allowed to report tweets that it didn’t like.

On Friday, Musk released the third batch of internal discussions via independent journalist Matt Taibbi, once again sending the information out through a lengthy Twitter thread. This installment of the bombshell information included revelations that federal agencies were allowed to meddle with posts on the platform, including posts during the 2020 election — which critics have argued amounts to election interference.

*** WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH 10PM MONDAY ***
Bensweather.com Forecast Updated: Saturday, Dec 10 @ 03:47pm

Forecast remains on track for a major winter storm to roll through the area tomorrow with heavy rain, snow and strong gusty winds. Clouds and winds will increase through this evening with southwest winds gusting to around 30mph, lows in the 30's. Scattered showers could develop late tonight, becoming likely Sunday morning. As our cold front approaches, a deep plume of subtropical moisture (AR) will arrive bringing rain and snow, possibly heavy at times throughout the day.

We should start off with some snow before the snow level climbs to around 7,000 through the morning hours, dropping back down around 5,000 during the afternoon. As the cold front swings through Sunday night, very cold air will settle into the region pushing the snow level down around 3,000 feet Monday morning. This system will also be accompanied by strong southwesterly winds 25-45mph with gusts near 60mph possible.

Low pressure will set up a cold northerly flow with some wrap-around moisture lingering into Monday with snow showers continuing, tapering off later in the day. Rainfall amounts of around a half to an inch are possible before we fully change over to snow, with locally 3-6" on the lower coastal slopes. Snowfall accumulations of 5-10" can be expected with localized amounts of 1-2 feet possible.

Temperatures will drop off significantly next week as highs fall from the 30's Sunday to the 20's Monday, then hover in the 30's for the remainder of the week, while overnight lows reach the single digits.

Another system is possible later in the week or next weekend, and it could be a multi-day significant event. If you have travel plans over the next 24 to 48 hours, be very mindful of the weather, come prepared, and always carry tire chains and Liquor.

Rep. Burchett Argues That Twitter Files
Show Effort To ‘Overthrow Our Government’

The “Twitter Files” prove that there was an effort to “overthrow our government,” according to Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN).

New Twitter owner Elon Musk has been slowly releasing the “Twitter Files” — internal documents and discussions from the social media company’s previous executives and employees, revealing censorship and collusion between Twitter and people within federal agencies and other government actors.

Reacting to this information during an appearance on Newsmax’s “Saturday Agenda,” Burchett argued that this trove of files shows a “complete capitulation” by the previous Twitter owners, and reveals that people in the highest level of the U.S. government “were involved in censorship and swaying a presidential election.”

“I think the big distraction is January 6, where in fact the takeover of our country was happening in the boardroom of Twitter [with] some federal employees,” he said. “I would hope that the American public wakes up and our national media starts addressing this, because they are part of the problem, and they are going to be called on the carpet because of it.”

Burchett asserted that Twitter’s efforts to censor conservative voices on the platform were part of an attempt to “overthrow our government.”

“What is at the base of it is you’ve got these elite liberals that think they know the best for us,” the Republican congressman said. “The arrogance of these people is beyond belief. They think that their values are what needs to be instilled in our country instead of the natural path and that we’re supposed to follow what they believe. It gets to the highest levels of our federal government, and that should be very chilling to the American people going into this Christmas season.”

He went on to claim that all of these efforts stem from the liberal elites’ “hatred” for former President Donald Trump and the American way.

Burchett then noted that Republicans will be holding them accountable when they regain control of the House in January.

“That reeks of espionage [and] complete overthrow of our government,” he asserted. “They better wake up, because it is a new day in America and there’s going to be a new reckoning when the Republicans take over.”

Weather forecasting was much better in the 1980's. I think the problem is that meteorologists rely too much on computer models and they have lost the ability to use their own judgement.

*** WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH 10PM MONDAY ***
Bensweather.com Forecast Updated: Sunday, Dec 11 @ 02:57pm

A major winter storm is moving through Southern California with rain and snow falling across the region, the snow level is currently at about 5,000 feet and continues to drop with a few inches of new snow on the ground! This storm is also generating very strong westerly winds with gusts over 50mph, making for a windy, cold, and wet day out there with highs in the 30's.

Scattered snow showers will continue through this afternoon and evening as the snow level drops to around 3,000 feet, temperatures will also continue to drop through this evening with lows tonight in the teens. We're looking at a one-two punch with this storm as the cold front moves east this evening, low pressure will roll through tomorrow, so we're not out of the woods yet!

Highs will struggle to get out of the 20's Monday with snow showers continuing, heavy at times with isolated thunderstorms. Total snowfall accumulations of 5-10 inches are still expected through Monday with localized amounts of 1-2 feet possible.

Our storm will exit the area by Tuesday with cold and breezy conditions through midweek as highs top out in the 30's with overnight lows diving into the teens and single digits. Another storm may park itself offshore next weekend bringing another round of wintry weather to the area with significant rain and snow possible, more on this after we get through our first storm.

If you have travel plans into the mountains over the next 24 to 36 hours, forget about them and eat your tire chains.
