Change in Feedback Policy?

(From the "Feedback" Forum, eBay US)

Feb 10, 2010 6:43 PM

In the midst of a recent Unpaid Item case it seems eBay changed its policy regarding removal of negative feedback if buyer did not respond to case and seller closed case. EBay no longer removes the feedback even if the buyer did it in retaliation for the case being opened. Nor does the buyer any longer get an automatic strike, now they "may" have a report of non-payment in their account.

I had a case that was within 18 hours of policy change it seems because the customer service rep during an online chat assured me the fellow would get a strike and the feedback removed. Did not happen and there is no longer evidence of the former policy in online help. Nice. The fellow trashed two other sellers with the same feedback within an hour. They had apparently filed Unpaid Item cases as well.

So, if you have been following the rules carefully for years now and playing the game the way it should be played, forget it. Stop selling and go out there and buy all you want and don't bother to pay for it because nothing is going to happen to you and all you have to do to seal the deal is trash the seller with negative feedback.

Why does eBay hate us so?

Gerald

Because eBay wants to become the next China-Mart!
Their new motto is: We don't care about the few American sellers, we want the millions of $1 crap item sellers from China! That's where we'll make the profit!

just because something is written in a forum does not mean it is true

especially when the poster insists on using a font that is over sized

and the post is surrounded by cheap corny graphics

rest assured that in Australia negative as well as neutral feedback will be removed

if you need details on how it's done just ask

Once again, eBay displaying its low life business ethics.

Funny, no sign of eBay in the top ten. Gee, how could that be?

My guess is they are saying: "Drop-shippers Wanted".

But the scam scenario is also a possibility.

"We made £8M on ebay"

I only skimmed this above-linked article but did not notice any eBay selling ID to back up this story; maybe I just missed it.

Have you ever heard that old saying, if it sounds too good to be true then it probabably is too good to be true.

Maybe I'm too much of a skeptic but to me this story sounds like a paid eBay advertisement that probably should have the word "Advertisement" at the top of it; that's what scrupulous newspapers used to do when advertisers produced ads that looked like news content. Anyone think otherwise?

I was just baffled that everything was in pounds and not dollars considering they are supposedly Australian, I know it is a UK article but still, it does seem a little odd, and... 8 million pounds in 4 years?? Thats a LOT of Aussie dollars, maybe I am a skeptic as well lol

Yes, well it looks like one of those nutty cults where, finally, everyone gets to commit suicide whether they want to or not because the head turkey wants to go to another galaxy; and if these people are so fantastically successful, why would they want to share their formula for success with the competition? How can we be sure our old mate “eBay Griff” has not dreamed up this bit of pathetic eBay propaganda?
