it's an American site? sort of.

And you have to spell like a yank, or it picks you up over it. ;D

Hello Chookster.

It is an Aussie site, set up and run by Aussies, but not limited to Aussies.  (We have and have had quite a few international posters from various countries.)

The site is hosted (lives) in the US and therefore has a .com URL.

That pic you show below was put together by our favourite horse, Brumby. He sweated over it for weeks and we appreciate his effort.

The rock should be black though.

Chook , you may have noticed that at the bottom of each page it says powered SMF 1.1.9

SMF is an American forum site program that uses American templates so therefore the Calender being a template would show American holidays etc  ( I think , but I did fail geek so might not 100% correct in the way Ive tried to explain it )

the days and dates are the same ...whats the drama ? you can add stuff to it if you want to show Aussie public hols etc Im sure

With fear of being labelled pedantic I would like to see the colour of Uluru in the banner changed to a more realistic blacker colour too

Yeah, I just love the winter solstice in December and Fathers Day in June, Groundhog Day in February. Yeah it's all good if you're a seppo.
Where's Anzac Day or Australia Day for Christ sakes.
We should re-name this place " The Seppo Round Table" What's the drama in that?

The big rock should be red & black with Pepsi Max painted in big letters on both sides.

And where do I find that?

click on the calender tab between my messages and logout almost at the top of your screen , when the calender opens one of the tabs down the bottom says post event , if you click on that it will open a page
where it has a space for the event title and you select a date ...now Im not sure if thats how you do it or if that is just for effectively booking a thread for a future date or if it does both ie register it on the calender as a date and also start a thread , I guess we could try it and and see

Oh ok ...the calender function has only recently been activated so it may well be able to be fine tuned in some ways ,including adding of relevant Aussie dates , Countessa is the guru on these things , she will come along in due course and shed some light on the matter and let us know if they can be added by all members and how or just admin or what

I've just spent the last 40 minutes removing almost all of the US holidays and entering Australian holidays and days of interest.

If there's a day not entered which you'd like to have entered, post it here and I will enter it.

Chookie darl' it is at the bottom of the calendar page when you scroll down.   (the links to create events you asked about)

Don't know if it is a good idea to create an event after little Fluffy's experience though.

Roo, the calendar doesn't allow more than a certain number of characters! Poor NSW... cut off in its prime...

Yeah & what about National Pepsi Max Day.

Also, National Pluto Pup Day.

Both should also be public holidays.

Would you believe it... there is a National Corndog Day. (I'm told that the corndog is an alternative name for a Pluto Pup.)

National Corndog Day 2011 is 19th March.

There is no Pepsi Max Day - but if you'd like one instituted, would you consider 28th May an appropriate date?

On 28 May 1994, England's Blackpool Pleasure Beach amusement park opened the Pepsi Max Big One steel roller coaster.
