I posted this on the Big Bear group, and Mike Moore Said I was full of crap and banned me from the group. A family was coming up and asked and I gave them the truth, but His group only want positive things on their page and remover the information I gave. It's so sad to see people like Mike Moore censoring correct information even if it's bad news just so their group only promotes positive things about the valley. He even said he went to MWD and asked and was told it was safe, but I called the same day and was told the truth over there. Shame on you Mike Moore.

I never said it was a joke I just said we needed verified information before we were going to allow to be posted in the group what's the information was verified by the water quality management system and Bear Valley Municipal Water District we posted it on that group but since you wanted to be a jackass and repost it over and over and then make a big deal about it you get removed from the group because you won't follow the rules that you were told to follow. Firefighters on Labor Day battled a vegetation fire that started near the Snow Summit Ski Resort south of Big Bear Lake.
Firefighters on Labor Day continue to battle a vegetation fire that sparked near the Snow Summit Ski Resort south of Big Bear Lake.

Dubbed the Radford Fire, the blaze was first reported around 1:30 p.m. on Monday north of the residential and business areas of Big Bear Lake, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

Multiple-fire agencies from the ground and air first began attacking the fire, which had grown to 50 acres, with 0% containment, by 5:13 p.m., the U.S. Forest Service reported.

Approximately 140 fire personnel have been assigned to the incident, with more requested.

Several High Desert residents contacted the Daily Press to report seeing smoke toward Big Bear Lake, located in the San Bernardino National Forest.

These stories are developing and will be updated as more information becomes available.

Residents near Big Bear were forced to evacuate as the Radford fire grew to 200 acres with no containment Monday, Sept. 5, and shut down traffic on Highway 38 in both directions.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department issued an evacuation order for residents in the area of Glass Road to South Fork River Road, Yucaipa police announced on Twitter just before 6:30 p.m.

Highway 38 closed from Mill Creek to Lakewood, according to Caltrans, as fire crews worked the fire lines.

The Radford fire was first reported after 1 p.m. south of Big Bear Lake.

About 140 firefighters are assigned to the blaze, according to the U.S. Forest Service. Inland fire resources are divided between the Radford Fire and the Fairview fire near Hemet, which exploded Monday afternoon to hundreds of acres and forced evacuations.

Firefighters were battling the blaze from the air and ground, San Bernardino County fire tweeted.

Temperatures in the region soared again Monday as California declared a power grid emergency and a sustained heat wave threatened to push the state’s electricity system beyond its limit.

🐻Fire update 11:00 p.m. fire spread still slowing down,(APPROX 150 ACRES),night helicopter will remain assisting the ground crews over night and will be using Big Bear airport as it's base.
Water Scoop and Drop Aircraft will continue to drain Big Bear Lake until the cows come home.
The fire is still NOT currently burning toward Big Bear, so here's praying that the winds continue to send it west, downhill🙏🙏🙏

 we have an evacuation in the area of Knickerbocker and pine knot.
I'm getting more details but I'm just letting you know...
 if you live in these areas, get your animals packed, get your cars packed, make sure you have all your important paperwork and be ready to go.
They are saying to evacuate now, if you ask my opinion I'm going to tell you to do it, because it's better to be safe than sorry.
 and once they get a handle on this area they will let us know.
 and I'm sure it will be safe for you to return home, but right now your safety isn't worth the risk. just get out of their way let them do what they need to do even if it means you go to the other side of the lake and chill for a couple hours get out of the Knickerbocker Pine knot area🐻🙏💜

Jordan Sample you're preaching to the choir. I've had these groups for several years. I deal with good and bad on a daily basis, times over 10,000 members... but I do on occasion use my group to vent because my friends and neighbors understand my frustration??

I grew up in these mountains, been evacuated many times lol people just can't help themselves, and I found it easier to just delete and move forward. I feel your pain lol just want to prop you up 😉

Jordan Sample I can assure you I'm very focused and I don't have to "train" my members to do anything😂 they are all very good people and they care a lot about the community and many of us have lived up here for many years, so we know what's expected of us and we do the best we can.
I would not have created all of the groups I have if I didn't plan to be responsible enough to monitor them on a daily basis. There is a huge difference between one's personal Facebook page, and trying to run Facebook groups with a few thousand members in each group.
Everybody has their own way of doing things and I think it's Splendid that your way works for you.🌹

Today I went DTH. When I returned...Big Bear was like a scene out of a Post Apocalyptic Motion Picture.
Low traffic on 330, BB Blvd. and all along there was signs of no people and commerce.
Vons was nearly vacant. No waiting!
The whole felafelin' town is whacked! It's not like we got burned to the ground. It was a brush fire. Goddamm get over it, and fix the Lake: Drain it and start over.
