Fundamentally correct - but I had envisioned a term specifically for the particular form of 'bad' behaviour - flooding categories.

As an example, we have a term for excessive postal charges: "Postage Pirates" which is another form of 'bad' behaviour.

I was intending to add another term in the same section of the eBay lexicon.

So - we could have a 'bad' seller - which covers a host of things ...
But a 'Glutlisting postage pirate' is much more descriptive, don't you think?  :)

You essentially envisage a series of terms, then?

(Taking my suggestion and running with it for the moment because I still like it) - Glutlisters (for sellers who flood the categories)
Spamkeyers (or something like that) for sellers who use spamming keywords to flood results
Ninetwooners (or something like that) for sellers who misleadingly convey the impression that they're selling something genuine when it's obviously a fake or fraudulent or cheap knock-off

Come to think of it .... is there an opening to define terms for all the varieties of 'bad behaviour'?

Is there a glossary for eBay somewhere?

If not, could we set one up?  It would be a bit of fun and likely to draw traffic to this site (if we survive the labelling process)

Read the Countess's summation.

She picked it in one.

You still can't see the issue because you're on your own soap box.

So far, you've used terms like Crucify, rampage, poppycock, dies in the bum, and soap box...

can you demonstrate to me where any part of my opposing opinion has been as uncharitable or aggressive towards you?....have I called your opinions poppycock?...posed the idea of legal crucifixion for your statements? or described your opposing view as a rampage or soap box episode?.....have I noted anywhere that your argument 'dies in the bum'?.......or made any similar comments ?....

Any need for you to use that approach with me then?

Did it ever occur to you that you did not 'get it'?  Did you ever stop to consider your comments weren't precisely tuned into the topic?

No.

You persisted in your stance, defending the inaccurate and beginning to sound like an Archie Bunker.

Indications from other posters are that they understood what I was saying - but if you still can't, I don't know what to suggest.

I apologise for my frustrations.  If I have used some emotive words in my posts, I am more than prepared to replace them with more objective terms, but my fundamental message will not suffer any compromise.

Talk about belaboring a point?  I concede...if it means that much to you Brumby...call them shiteheads & shonks for all I care....I often do.....

Nobody was tarring all powersellers with the same brush...that was your interpretation.....but to make such a big thing over naming a group of bad powersellers to the extent of making negative subjective remarks, is something unexpected from you actually...so call me surprised....

I don't see the point in getting all hot under the collar about a 'name'.....I'm a bit more focused on the conduct of various 'powersellers', spam sellers, big sellers, whatever you want to call them....some spam to get sales...

anyway.....for the sake of the status quo,.....I agree with everything you've said, and I withdraw any opinion to the opposite...it's just not worth all this angst...

All I wanted to do was accurately identify a particular group of sellers.

It seems trying to be accurate is a crime.

Is this so hard to comprehend...?

Let's not belabour this too much, hmm?

The definition being worked on here is for the sellers who flood categories. That's it; no further description necessary.

Now please - darn, if I were close enough, I'd take the two of you out for coffee, but I'm not close enough...

To get back to the topic raised by the Op ...  lol..  the question of which was what name can we give these sellers/people who flood the market with volumes of merchanise that incorrectly/sneakily invade categories and displaces other sellers........ and stop buyers from finding their items quickly....

I like......

SPAMSTERS....

... because they are small (minded) furry rodents...that cr*p all over the place...uncontrollably  (Is that unfair to hamsters?)

Yib looks like he's arguing with himself....?

As for the suggestions, I seem to recall hinting...

Then again, I did invite ANY suggestion...

Of course we could add another term to this to describe the late and great Ghandi.
He was known for his bare feet, bad breath ( his diet ) and fragile frame. he was referred to as the

" super calloused fragileistic extra halitosis "

The shonk in front of the name makes it very long and hard to abbreviate.

But Swampers rolls off the tongue.... ;D
