I hope everyone had a nice day and didn't over indulge.

I see one has admitted to an excess of beverage, never mind Tello just wait until you get over here and taste some REAL beer instead of the 2% 'maiden's water' that they mistakenly call beer over there.
This above all: To thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Fireworks have just started over here.

Might wander out to the front verandah and see what I can see.

I had a most beautiful day, the food was great, the company was terrific, and the atmosphere was light and festive.

It was slightly spoiled by having car trouble on the way back, but I cheered up when the RACV guy fixed the problem within five minutes after having a 40 minute wait.

Happy Australia Day, everyone!

Spell it as the real Australians spell it, then! *wicked grin* It ends in "a".

We're just avoiding the activity, not the noun...

ADVANCE AUSTRALIA FAIR

Australians all let us rejoice,
For we are young and free;
We’ve golden soil and wealth for toil;
Our home is girt by sea;
Our land abounds in nature’s gifts
Of beauty rich and rare;
In history’s page, let every stage
Advance Australia Fair.

In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
We’ll toil with hearts and hands;
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands;
For those who’ve come across the seas
We’ve boundless plains to share;
With courage let us all combine
To Advance Australia Fair.

In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia Fair.

Hello to the lovely Lady Rose. I take it that it was a hot Australia Day up there?

Centuries, what a gorgeous new avatar! It's exactly my style (as certain people here know all too well).

... Wonderful photos, Roo. I saw them in the night sky, but didn't think about photographing them.)

Hello, Yibida - I know you've been busy, but did you have time to enjoy today as a day of rest?

And hello, Robbie - your avatar is particularly suitable for today.

Hello, Tello - we can write a song with those lyrics. And I could do with some snow here... I know it's actually quite nice outside, but INSIDE it's a bit warm at the moment.

Hello, M@ggie - the "a" spelling is at least an alternative, although it isn't in the dictionary. *rueful shrug*

Cupie, did you enjoy your Australia Day? BBQ, picnic, game of cricket...?

If more people were aware of what they are celebrating at Thanksgiving I think they would lose their apatite on that day :(

And we too have a few skeletons in our cupboard.
