This is my venue.

The concept of FD1 was originally slated to be an X-Files episode. James Wong & Glen Morgan wrote it.
Long before those guys were born, Rod Serling hosted a similar feature, entitled "Twenty-two".

I remember Rod Sterling hosting another program..... can't remember the name.... but the stories came about from oil paintings. Was a lot of years ago - but a great show.

Here's something not well known or discussed:

In FD1, the song "Rocky Mountain High" by John Denver is prominantly displayed in the scene where Alex is on the potty, and the scene where Val Luten gets killed & her house goes Boom.

In FD3, the Denver tune is subtle:
Muzak in Tim's Dentist's office;
Muzak in the elevator when Rory is going to the meeting.

I haven't bothered to find the tune in FD2. Maybe it's there; maybe not. Who cares? It's just trivia....
