Some things will never change / Trolls are Indestructible
« on: April 24, 2009, 02:34:37 PM »
I started this thread on Ebay [ The RT Reunion Thread.......... ] to help RT refugees and you guessed it, we have a troll infestation on that thread, I'm not saying the Trolls were the reason ebay closed down the RT board, we all know why they did that, [ just to fill anybody in that missed that saga ]  it was Primarily so the RT Knights could not organise the troops to launch any attacks on ebay policies, EG: ACCC / reserve bank..... tell me differently if anybody thinks it was closed for any other reason.

IMO, the only way to deal with such trolls is squash them.
The best way to do that is ignore.
Yib, you have PM ;D

yibida I agree with your feelings of frustration.

In my opinion it again highlights the poor quality and at times sadly lacking moderation by Ebay.

I cant understand how a large company like that would allow someone so disruptive to the many members that frequent its forums to continue to carry on like that for the world to see appalls me.

In my opinion It even looks to me like some are protected from sanctions, when it appears that a moderator is quick to give other members pink slips that dare respond in any way.

Even asking this trouble maker to stay on topic leeds to moderation notices.

And the best the board moderator can offer is to advise members to ignore.

Some PS comes to mind.. what a wet spounge she was LOL... also greatly brainwashed by ebay propagander... the sad part was / is she continues to preach ebay crap to newbee's.. kinda like the heroine speach that Simon said a while back...ah yes.. you remember simon don't you?...just a part of history now.. another fall guy for the evil empire....

The best way to defeat that troll is to ignore him/her. He is feeding from any post directed at him.
Imagine how even more ridiculous he/she would look if NO ONE responded to his/her nasty snipes.
Interestingly enough, how come no one asked dargent in that locked thread about him using his sisters account?

barbie is dargents sister

MODERATOR EDIT: Daffy, could you be very careful with statements like that?  :please: Unless you can prove such an assertion, it is better to say that you believe such-and-such to be true. I think the subject has probably been done to death,  :deadhorse: and it's time to just enjoy the pleasant atmosphere and help each other here without getting too bogged down in past problems.  :thanks:

Hi Yibida,

It was me that asked if he did or still does post using other active members IDs..

His reply was "No!"

I don't know whether he was being truthful or not. But, I believe not.... He would need to protect the owners of the IDs he used (and will use again) IMO.

They seem to have an obsession with this forum, their favourite topic of conversation at the moment.
As someone did ask them; WHY? considering they wanted all but a select few gone. That group have some serious issues along with an unhealthy obsession with what others are doing.

Question: Can people (guests)  read these threads without having to join?
Should not threads be viewed unless you are logged in as a member?

MODERATOR EDIT: Hi, Daffy. These are public forums. Guests can browse to find answers or helpful advice if it's here, without needing to be a member. If they wish to post to find some friendly consumer-to-consumer advice from everyone's experience here, they do need to register.

I agree with you Yibida. It's obvious, to me at least, why ebay "clamped down" so much. The ebay AU members have been "a bit vocal" over the last few years

With regards to what is happening in your "other" thread, I am awaiting a second response from someone appropriate.  ;)
