Two purchases, two very different seller emails
« on: March 02, 2012, 11:45:05 AM »
Compare the info in the emails from two purchases I have made:

Seller 1

Thanks for the purchase if you should have any problems at all please contact
us first.
Our phone number and email are on the top of all of our listing or on our
about me page.

REMEMBER EBAY COUNTS NEUTRAL FEEDBACK AS NEGATIVE. Yes this is true. If a
seller recieves negative or neutral feedback it has a direct effect on there
sales and where there item ranks. YOUR FEEDBACK HAS DRASTIC EFFECTS ON SELLERS
ABILITY TO SELL THERE ITEMS and can cause them to shut there businesses down.
This means real people lose real jobs. Please use your feedback wisely.

POSTAGE TIMES. We will ship your item within 2 buisness days of payment guaranteed.
Unfortunately we are then at the mercy of Australia Post. It would seem in
recent times there performance is sadly lacking. Why we as sellers are ranked
on Australia Post's inability to deliver items on time seems incredibly unfair.

Ebay states that Australia Post Regular should deliver within 1-6 days of
posting. In our years of experience this is inadequate and untrue. Most of
the time Australia Post can deliver withing 5-10 days but can quite often
take longer. We do ask for your patience in delivery and should you have
any concerns please contact us first.

Seller 2

Thank you for shopping at [seller]! Just to recap, you will see below some details of what you ordered and some handy information you might possibly need.

And while you are reading this, you might like to know that your order is being passed to the warehouse for picking, packing and shipping.

The second seller has put a smile on my dial for their balloon and pigeon comments and the whole tone of their email is positive. The first seller's email has several spelling mistakes and is very negative SHOUTING about eBay, DSRs, feedback and Aus Post.

I know which seller I'll be buying from again and which seller will not be getting 5 stars for Communication.

The first seller is his own worst enemy. He can see there's a problem, but he thinks that by telling buyers about the problem from his perspective, he will persuade them to shower multiple 5 stars upon him.

The second seller has the same problems to face, but is tackling it with humour and brevity and helpfulness.

Yes and I think that the first seller is lacking in common sense and is a self centered person and can only see things from his/her perspective.
