Title: In the Real World eBay has a Bad Name
Post by: bnwt on May 06, 2010, 11:49:31 AM
Quite often I find supplier will not sell to me when they hear I have an eBay store

but this week something even more remarkable was made apparent

I have been thinking of spending some money on advertising to drive more traffic to my store

I contacted a company that specialises in running google adword campaigns ..... they quite bluntly told me I'd be throwing my money away as the vast number of buyers would leave without even looking once they realised my google adwords ad had taken them to an eBay store

Apart from that company I spoke with Australia's leading shopping comparison site - which has a similar pay per click ad system - they flatly refused to have an eBay store listed on their site

I think my plan to open my own online store are about to brought forward

It could not hurt, BNWT. Once you've got it up and running, you can link to it from here as well.

Yes, eBay has not the "pull" it once had. If advertising your eBay store is counter-productive, no doubt you are wise to think of alternatives.
