Has anyone experience in using USPS?
Any feedback on delivery time from New York to Australia using it?
I've an item which the seller posted on 21st July; it arrived in NY on 22nd July (sorted, processed), and there are no further events since then.
Is it usual for this method to take this long?

I've noticed some comments on eBay about mail delays from the US - especially for anything passing through Chicago. If it was mailed in New York, I think it possible it may have travelled the Chicago route.

Tess my body armor came via USPS from Florida ... I was able to track it from the place of origin right up to customs in Australia then in transit to my home... I've only dealt with them once and had no problem with them, I like the fact I can track the goods from start to finish...

I bought a coin from a USA seller in early July and it took about 3 weeks to arrive. Maybe you can check with AusPost if the parcel has arrived Australia.
Most of the time it takes 8 to 10 days to arrive. The longest wait was 4 months when I already given up. Some parcel just never turn up.

It works.
We send parcels 2 ways:
Priority.
Parcel Post.
One costs more.
Both are slow.

Several years ago when I was a Power Buyer, I bought a Tibetan Goat Bell from England.
After 3 months of a 'no-show', I gave up.
In month 4, it arrived.
I blame the Brits.

Sometimes it is never updated online even after being delivered to you after you have signed for it.

I get stuff sent from the US fairly regularly
and yes, from New York ........... usually takes about 10 days but there was the odd time when 2 parcels sent by the same company on the same day arrived 17 days apart
all in all I find USPS pretty good

There are certainly worse services around...
I wonder when Australian parcels will routinely be trackable - properly. I've heard a few complaints from people who try to track their parcels online, and it says "No event found" or something like that. I suppose it doesn't matter as long as the parcel is actually on its way and arrives within a good timeframe...

As far as I know, there is, at the moment, only one way you can assure at least one tracking event shows up for online monitoring - and that is to lodge over the counter and watch the A.P. person scan the barcodes.
After that .... it's anybody's guess IF you will get any more scanning events, let alone when.
