Can I ask if anyone is using a different ID than what we knew in the old RT?

I see that people have stuck to their normal ID's but there are a few I have never seen before, just wondering who you are, or if you were just lurkers, who now feel comfortable enough to post?

I would have trouble remembering who I was if I changed my ID stems - easier for me to just stick with the same one

I was primaryaim but as I did not post much I don't think anyone would recognise me anyway and its easier to type primula :)

didi, was it the first or second i you missed ??    I misspelt my buying id so redid it correctly and now have two very similar names, one I have never used. 5 years on and ebay have not derigistered it through non use. I wonder how many they have like that.
Title: Re: New names
Post by: *wheels* on April 26, 2009, 08:24:01 PM
Prim, I don't think they ever deregister names - otherwise they wouldn't be able to boast 5 million Aus users!
Title: Re: New names
Post by: Primaryaim on April 26, 2009, 08:27:04 PM
I was thinking along those lines LOL
Title: Re: New names
Post by: *wheels* on April 26, 2009, 08:32:27 PM
When I registered for Twitter I just tried wheels and couldn't believe it that the name was available so signed up on the spot. It wasn't until a few days later that I realised I was wheeels!

Ah fifed, I remember seeing that ID :)
Title: Re: New names
Post by: rhonda_lee on April 26, 2009, 08:47:51 PM
Hi primula.  It hasn't been around for awhile. Gave it up at about the time the old Couch thread went to the back page. :'(
Had another since then but was heckled by Svengali and his puppet, so left to get back into real life!! :)
Title: Re: New names
Post by: Fluffy*Duckee on April 26, 2009, 08:51:33 PM
Well my id is the same.  I thought it was too confusing to change.  Besides Fluffy Duckee is my real name and I am really a duck.

Quack!
Title: Re: New names
Post by: Primaryaim on April 26, 2009, 08:53:10 PM
I didn't think I had seen it lots. I didn't go to the couch thread so I must have seen you occasionally post elsewhere.

It is taking me a while to get used to the new names but I guess after a few weeks I won't try and translate, I will just go with what I see on the screen :)
Title: Re: New names
Post by: Primaryaim on April 26, 2009, 08:54:43 PM
Fluffy, I would really miss your name if you changed it so I am glad you didn't.

I think it is terrible that anyone HAD to change their name or leave a forum to avoid trolls. I have high hopes this won't ever happen here.
Title: Re: New names
Post by: stemschicky on April 26, 2009, 09:01:12 PM
Ive heard one of them is already here, posting with her solicitors isp apparently, I also heard one of them is desperately trying to register here
Title: Re: New names
Post by: Primaryaim on April 26, 2009, 09:04:20 PM
Stems Hi,
As much as I don't want to discuss members of other sites, I do wonder why anyone would manipulate to join using a borrowed ISP or ID. There are no restrictions to join here, anyone can, so long as they adhere to courtesy and respect. No need to be sneaky about it. Takes all kinds I guess.
Title: Re: New names
Post by: rhonda_lee on April 26, 2009, 09:04:51 PM
Primula..I sincerely hope that it won't. :(
Title: Re: New names
Post by: Primaryaim on April 26, 2009, 09:07:43 PM
Well..so do I but if anyone comes here and does not respect this site and its members they will be deregistered, quickly. Everyone should feel safe here. There are very few rules or restrictions, just basic common courtesy and decency. Not hard really :)
Title: Re: New names
Post by: stemschicky on April 26, 2009, 09:08:14 PM
Im the last one who would usually bring that up, was catching up on reading today and saw that, must say it freaked me out a bit, I cant help but wonder why someone would even say something like that,
freaky!!!
Title: Re: New names
Post by: mtnlane on April 26, 2009, 09:08:37 PM
Prim - I am the same.

Why anyone would want to join when they have been so vocal in their disdain beggars belief.  Perhaps they just want to see how great a forum can be when it is moderated fairly and with good humour.  They might also want to use our help threads
Title: Re: New names
Post by: Primaryaim on April 26, 2009, 09:11:00 PM
Laney, I am hoping our 'help' threads will be the envy of the internet when we can get them all up and running. It will be hard work but we will get there. :)
Title: Re: New names
Post by: mtnlane on April 26, 2009, 09:13:17 PM
I am sure they will Prim - and I appreciate how much work there is in creating them.  Only sorry that I know so little about the rules that I am unable to assist.  Oh well - I will just keep chatting and asking questions when I get around to selling

Mtnlane, if you help out with the editing, you'll get to know so much that you'll be a whizz at selling (at least, that's the plan!).

I want to encourage everyone to put forward their experience and knowledge.

Did you know we have some UK eBayers here as well? And that one of the admins is from the US?

I'm still me, by the way... I haven't changed my ID.

Hello everyone.  Just registered and wanted to say hello and thankyou for being here.  I have shortened my ID but just add poodle for my ebay posting name,  Not that I have posted much.  Lurked for years and just got the courage to post towards the end of RT.  Was sooo enjoying the humour when it all went to hell.
So I'm looking forward to being part of a friendly community.  ;D

Mtnlane I'm sooo jealous......I would love to have a standard.  They are so elegant. I'm hoping to get another toy as company for the ruling poodle.  Might put him in his place.  They really take over don't they?

Can you tell me bout the clock on this site.  When I signed up it said it was around 6ish but I know it was around 11pm.
And looking at the posting times of others I seem to be hours ahead?? Is it my computer?
Title: Re: New names
Post by: mtnlane on April 27, 2009, 12:12:49 AM
coco - toys are so beautiful too - each of them has their individual qualities - they are all beautiful.

Re your clock - if you go into 'your profile' (I think it is) you can reset the clock to your own local time.  Let me know if you have a problem and I will check it again

Go into 'profile', hover your mouse over 'look and layout preferences' on the left hand side of your screen and click on that.  It will bring up a page of preferences and you can adjust your time on that page

coco it just takes a  little while to get used to the layout but once you do - you will find yourself scooting around without any problem :-)  Love the lamb clip on your coco - living here in the hot west I have mine with a kennel clip - no long hair on her legs!  Easier to maintain and also cooler for her.  Do you do yours yourself?
Title: Re: New names
Post by: coco on April 27, 2009, 12:29:49 AM
No he goes to a dog groomer who hasd 5 poodles of his own. Poodle heaven I call it.  We play around with his clips,  In the summer he has very short with bracelets and now in the cold weather I let it grow.  I'm in the highlands  and today it was blowing a gale and sleeting.  He needed all his fur

Title: Re: New names
Post by: mtnlane on April 27, 2009, 12:31:27 AM
oh yes in the cold weather he would have done.  I used to live in the mountains back east and my girl had the lamb clip there for that reason also.  Anyway coco - don;t let me distract you from finding your way around :-)

Hi people!

firstly -  ;D Ladyrose - Martini is a she not a he ;);)

Secondly -

This is ONE of my ebay id's.  Not the one I used most on the forums - I did have a few trolls over there - especially on RT I am saddened to say - some just don't like the truth do they Poddy?  I note you refer to the same things  ;D  And my trolls are already here, so I will be staying relatively incognito if you all don't mind  ;D  Those who know me well can vouch for me if need be (but for the record I am NOT a powerseller  ;D or at all Saintly)

I only used it once and obviously someone didn't agree with me :D because I got the false and misleading email . Hi Didi, I don't believe they automatically deregister an unused ID.

They only remove on requested so it should still be safe.  I had one I had forgotten I had registered and was only reminded when eBay sent me an invitation with coupon to sell some years later. That was when they started losing members because of their changes so were trying to bribe :). If I had not got that email I would not have remembered the ID. Can't even remember why I registered it exactly but it was probably so I could buy gifts without family knowing.

Laney, to put pics in (if you have them on a URL - like photobucket. In "reply", choose http://www.ozroundtable.com/Themes/default/images/bbc/img.gif (http://www.ozroundtable.com/Themes/default/images/bbc/img.gif) on the second row, you get [ img ][ /img ] . Between those, you insert the URL code. (insert isn't  :ban: is it?)  :roflmao:

If the pics are on your computer, click "Additional Options..." to get "Attach: {browse button}(more attachments)" and look for the pic in your files.

Have I confused you now? LOL

Umm, not quite sure if there is a forum help thread anywhere, but just wondering is there a way I can go back to the last post/page that I have read of a thread? The only option that I have found is newest posts first or oldest posts first.

Cosmo, if you go back to the board page you can see all the threads and if you click on the blue New icon it will take you to the newest unread post in that thread.

OR

Click on 'show unread posts since last visit' up top under your user ID and it will bring up all unread posts from all threads on all boards

I just use the "Show unread posts since last visit." link at the top left of the board which gives you a list of updated threads, then click on the (http://www.ozroundtable.com/Themes/default/images/english/new.gif) icon beside each updated thread title.

Hi Cosmo, if you click on the blue 'new' tab on each thread name it should take you to the last post you read in that thread.

Is a Hi Wheels anything like a Big Wheels?

Numb, HI Wheels is when the wheels detach from your mode of transport and fly through the air to then bounce on one's noggin.

Brumby is a name I have used in a few places - starting back when I went to Uni. On eBay it wasn't unique so I added my initials.

Here, I can have the original name - but what I have done is registered with one name and set my display name to Brumby.
