Thanks Gr8. It's important to note though that there are always better archers around. It's just that they don't always compete &, as the saying goes, how can ya win if ya haven't got a ticket.

Archery tournaments can be likened to a swimming meet. There are different events, 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 100m butterfly etc. Archery tournaments are a bit like that. I compete in Mens Masters Compound, others compete in Mens (& Womens) recurve and longbow etc. there is never an overall tournament champion just the division winners who get gold medals, second & third get silver & bronze medals.

Yep Wheels, I'm famous for my Pepsi Max intake. I always have an esky filled with the delectable liquid just behind me on the shooting line.
As a matter of fact I'm guzzling on a can of Max as I type right now.

lol well no one would ever have imagined you had a can of pepsi in hand ubie, sounds like a really good sport and a good time time our in the fresh air i imagine.

today i tried to take my son to the beach but instead he wanted to go to the movies and we saw that movie with ricky gerbais (sic) was really great and so different its about a world where noone can lie and then accidentally he discovers he can to very interesting effect, it wasnt one of those roll in the aisles splitting sides with laughter type movies, because it was such a different concept we the audience took a while to grasp the depth of the humour, he wrote it apparently and a very original idea

Just a thought...... but can you use a bow on 'auto' in the 100 mtr butterfly event..... or is it restricted to single shot? You'd reckon that you'd be bussier than a one legged bloke in a bum kicking competition in the butterfly event!

Wreaths..... did someone say wreaths??? Do you mean for after Ubbie's archo-butterfly event? Forward planning I suppose?

*laugh* No, I wasn't thinking in terms of Ubbie's arrows turning some spectators into corpses... Just some nice holly-and-ivy-and-scarlet-berry Christmas wreathes while we all sing wassail songs.

Thankyou for the clarification countess..... always GREAT to see you. The fact is - my imagination was soooo engrossed with a visualisation of Ubbie trying to hold a pepsi max in one hand.... a bow in the other..... wondering whether or not you could buy a semi-automatic bow.... how big the magazine would be for the event.... whether or not you could have varying capacity magazines.... if these things were in the rules or not ------- while splashing around like blazes in a swimming event. Forgot briefly about the Christmas message. Apologies!

.....How about a high platform diving event? Imagine that.... two summersaults, a half twist in the Pike position.... and a release (or six if you can have an auto) Tell me Pepsi wouldn't be a proud sponsor!

Oh, that evil Duffy! Fancy turning up in a Christmas thread and daring to say the "H" word...!

R3830, great to see you too. I would imagine Pepsi being in alt over that opportunity. Actually, if Ubbie did shoot holes in all the spectators, couldn't there be a turn-around of the old Coke jingle? "Coke adds life... well, Pepsi adds DEATH!"

Which film is this, Gr8? Tell me, tell me. (As you know, I've had a harrowing time and could do with some relaxation.)

Caesium clocks consist of a microwave laser tuned to a resonant frequency in a caesium atom. They are accurate to within one part in 1015 per day, meaning that they gain or lose than a tenth of a nanosecond in 24 hours.

I think he is referring to the movie where Lying has not yet been invented.  It's kind of predisposition for all people to always tell the truth.  Ricky's character has this part missing and to his shock he finds he doesn't have to tell the truth.  Haven't seen it. I think that is how it goes.

at least they can now team up again and go back to comedy where they have more chance of being successful, imagine bruddy abbott as pm, enforced catholicism etc....
