Damn!

I go outside for a smoke
gaze upon a star in the East
and it's not a star.

Alien spacecraft, again.

Sent to observe my smoking habits,
not to invade
and certainly not here to deliver
Holiday Party Favors.

No discussion?

NO surprise.

Earthlings are weak.

For example: check out the coming massacre
and slaughter of the Black Friday Fiasco.

Commercial Consumer Genocide,
and it's normal.

I don't want to live in that world.

Humbugging is a good thing!

"There is in the worst of fortune the best of chances for a happy change."

Euripides

The ancient Greek playwright Euripides wrote these words in his tragedy “Iphigenia in Tauris,” a story of a woman thrust into forced servitude to the goddess Artemis at the Temple of Artemis while her family back home was in turmoil. Though Iphigenia’s misfortunes may not resemble our modern plights, Euripides reminds us that even our worst circumstances can hold the possibility of good: Often, it is when we reach rock bottom that we are able to start changing our lives.

The contextual sea of experience has currents bearing each individual in a barque of shiftlessness steered yet with the unpredictable wheel in the hands of a wild-eyed star-wanderer.
Fricken Strine.

Ah ... no, actually.  There's not a syllable of strine to be found there!  It's English.

You Yanks should learn it some time.

And now for more public humiliation, the current full skinny on the bad bus thread.

The haters, the ignorant, the uninformed and trolls are obvioius
and it's a shitty world with them, but aren't they a freak show?

Why do I need a bus when I have a bike?
I bus my bike to Town, 5 miles away.
I don't bike 5 miles.

And other details.

Here goes:

Ron Tello Culley asked a question .
Novtembptoer 22 at th3c:1i3so2 PihM  ·
Hello from Big Bear. Does anybody have a problem with the new Bus/Trolly? I do.
NO BIKE RACKS. I had to bring my bike aboard and I got injured in the process. I contacted the Bus People about it. No satisfaction there.
It seems not a lot of planning went into the new roll-out.
Another thing: I find that the Trolly is not SAFE at any speed. No seatbelts, hardwood seats and the pull cords are up high so ya gotta stand up to grab it.
Just 'cuz something is new and free doesn't mean it's good.

UPDATE: Bike racks were ordered up prior to the Trolly roll-out. Supply chain fail. I believe the Bus is doing well with what they have, and oh yes...word is the hardwood seats will be padded soon. So there. 🚌

They’re calling it a Trolley but it’s a bus dressed up as a Trolley. I was born and lived in New York City for 30 years and busses in any city don’t have seat belts, they don’t have cushions, and you usually have to stand up to pull the cord. The Big Bear Trolley is an amenity, we’re not paying for it so don’t complain.

When I was growing up we rode the trolley to Portland and they were just as you described, wood seats and no plush cushions, and yes we had to stand to pull the cord. We rode those for years and they were electric. Eventually, they were replaced with gas busses. Oh and no seatbelts and no bike rack. We also had to pay for our ride. No wonder us old crusty people think the younger generations are too soft. Lol

Just ride your bike?, Sounds to me you’re just finding someone way to sue them shame on you😡, When I heard this was being done I thought how nice of the city to do something for the people that live here and the tourist

Free works so well for me since my income is tight. The trolley I was on had seatbelts and for a relatively short ride the hard seat didn't bother me in the least. If my biggest concerns were seatbelts and hard seats I'd be overjoyed.

I remember when ebay mods went rogue, as I recall one poster saying

I just can't let it go yet.

I must clarify.

Who is making the bus free?
Everyone on the Chamber of Commerce,
local politicians and every other corrupt b@sturd
on the City Council.

The same crowd who INVITED the "Flatlanders" to town
at the outset of the Covid outbreak.

It was an outrage and well articulated online.

The new bus was a hasty decision,
not considering that it was a downgrade from the Red Bus
(the safe, comfortable ones, with bike racks).

The smart (desireable) move would be:
make the trollys complete, then roll 'em out.

For example:
In the '80's I was a drum Roadie for a popular L.A. Band.

The drummer had an older kit, WITH hardshell road cases.

Then he got a new kit, WITHOUT roadcases.
They were a hassel to deal with, especially in transit.

The smart move would be: hold back the new kit until the cases came in.

A SEAMLESS TRANSITION.

Get it?

I think I do but I'm willing to be wrong.

Whatever, fVck you.

End rant.

Flashback: Ronald Reagan’s 1988 Thanksgiving Address Extolls The Virtue Of Freedom
BY RUSTY WEISS
NOVEMBER 18, 2021 AT 9:20AM

In a radio address to the nation the week of Thanksgiving, 1988, President Ronald Reagan spoke of three things that are missing from America under the current President in our time – Prayer, prosperity, and freedom.

At a time where religious devotees are frequently mocked in the media, the economy is in shambles, and people are having their livelihoods ripped from them, and when freedom is seemingly a thing of the past as mindless liberals force masks and mandates upon the people, Reagan’s words take on new meaning.

Nostalgic meaning. About what America once was.

Take a look …

"Life is wide, limitless. There is no border, no frontier."

Bruce Lee

In his book “Striking Thoughts,” actor, martial artist, and philosopher Bruce Lee illustrates the boundless opportunities life presents us. It is never too late to learn something new, love something new, or become someone new. In fact, often the greatest impediments to creating the lives we desire most aren’t the speed bumps we hit along the way, but the limitations we put on ourselves before we even begin the journey.

One for The Cloud:

Taylor and Chanlyn

Please read Clause # 4 in the Month-to-Month Rental Agreement that you signed. It states that the landlord can make any changes with a 30 day advanced notification to the tenants.
Also, please read the Amendment to the Month-to-Month Rental Agreement, which states that any electric bill over $350. will be divided between the tenants.

It also states that this will begin on April 1st 2021. The Amendment was given to you on March 1st.
I am in my legal right to do this. I can actually have the tenants pay for the whole electric bill, and I would be in my legal right to do that, as well. But I am a fair person, and I would not do that. So...you should be happy that I am going to pay up to $350. of the bill. Hopefully, the electric bill will be below $350. as the weather becomes warmer.

The last electric bill was $503.77.  I had to eat that one.
If I were to have the tenants pay the difference on that bill, it would be $153.77, divided into 7, which would be $21.96 added onto each tenants rent. However, the two of you would be counted as one, not two, so if the two of you split the rent, you would each have only paid $10.98.
when you look at it, $400. a month for each of you, is not that much rent.
It's much easier when two people are sharing the rent.

And about Ron living in his trailer on this property. He has been here since 2015. In 2018, 3 years later, I wanted him off my property due to us not getting along at the time. I had called the authorities and asked how I can get him off my property, since it's illegal for him to be living in a trailer here. They said that since he has been living in the trailer here for 3 years, I would need to give him a 90 day eviction notice since it might take him longer to find a place to move his trailer to. The landlord, tenant lawyer said the same thing.

Remember, I had told the two of you that Ron and I have known each other for 31 years. He is like family. We do still tend to have flare-ups, but they are immediately remedied. And they are small potatoes in the big picture. He is an honest, honorable, helpful, person, with integrity, despite what you may think. You don't even know him, and you pass judgment on him, perhaps from something that Dolly had said to you. The two of them never even spoke two words to each other. And that goes for the two of you, as well. He has never done anything against you, or anybody else on this property.

He is also very helpful. Anybody can ask him for help, and he would do it, so long as it's in his ability to do so. I think that Dolly has fed the two of you with a lot of crazy bullshit about people here, and you guys believed her. Also, please don't pass judgment on him because of his appearance. That does NOT tell you what kind of person he is. He's not a nosy person and doesn't get involved in the gossip and politics around here. He also keeps a watch on this place. Yes, he  has his eyes and ears open, and I trust him 100%.

The two of you will have to see things in a better perspective here, or it won't work. There are NO thieves on this property. People feel so safe that they rarely lock the kitchen door.

Some people who have moved out, have eventually asked if they can move back in.
Only believe what you, yourselves observe about people first hand.
Don't believe the negative gossip.

                                                              Sherry

Bensweather.com Forecast Updated: Wednesday, Nov 24 @ 11:46pm

High pressure over the Great Basin advecting cold air into the region will support gusty offshore winds through the weekend, especially through Thursday morning. Winds will not be as strong across in Big Bear Valley, but we'll remain rather breezy with northeast winds 10-20mph at times, expect stronger gusts to our west and below passes & canyons.

Otherwise, we're looking at a gorgeous Thanksgiving holiday under crystal clear skies, cool and crisp out there with highs in the 40's. The offshore flow will weaken a bit Friday, as we lose the cold air advection temperatures will recover through the weekend with highs back in the 50's while overnight lows generally cool to the 20's. Temperatures will remain slightly above average through next week as weak offshore gradients persist with dry weather ahead.

Sherry duzzint know this yet,
but I'd rather not go to Murrays (in The Village) for
the free feast and instead go to Kallan's (in the 'hood)
to shoot pool and snack on fries.

Then return home to enjoy this relaxing video:

Here's the breakdown:

Murray's:
Free food attracts the crazies who steal drinks
and get obnoxious. (Been there, seen that)

A small venue; social distancing not gonna happen.

If the house is full, outdoor patio dining is there.
So is the 46 F degree weather.

They never keep the loo clean.

The pool table sucks.

A long drive from home, prolly a waste of precious petrol.

Kallans:
Expensive menu, only attracts suckers willing to pay thru the nose.

A short 1 minute drive.

Never a full house.

The pool table is nice and free.

Fries are affordable and nutritious.

I can get a 25 ounce beer cheaper across the street at Easy's.
Compare: Easy's...$2.25. Kallans...$6.50

And, I can carry a concealed weapon, no problem.

What?

In the alternative
we can Jell at home with our standard
video devices
and
enjoy turkey, ham and cheeze sammiches.

I also have a whole chicken ready for the microwave.
(Pretend it's a small turkey)

Any way we slice it,
indoors is where it's at!

Besides: I don't need today to be thankful for
the fact that I can still walk at all
and use the toilet unassisted.

I am always grateful for Sherry and stuff....

So, party-on dysfunctional family America!
