Obviously my "Shut Up Smee" campaign has failed.

So for my next trick, I'm going to pull a hat out of my rabbit.

And he's gonna be pissed-off.... and looking for blood. Yours, for example.

Cheers M8!

Biden Persisently Acts in a Manner Contrary
to the Interests of the Median Citizen!

May 13, 2022

Last June, the Biden administration unveiled its "National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism." Despite its anodyne-sounding name, the "National Strategy" was anything but anodyne. The pamphlet represented the logical culmination of the Left's cynical use of the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot as a means of ginning up large-scale, nationwide anti-Republican/anti-Trump voter sentiment. The result, evinced again by Attorney General Merrick Garland's disgraceful October 2021 memo directing the FBI to intrude on local school board meetings and crack down on anti-critical race theory parental revolts, has been a roiling cold war waged by the ruling class against us "deplorables" and our political "wrong-think."

Now, seven months after Garland's infamous Oct. 4 memo, the better question to ask is not whether President Joe Biden is engaged in a cold war merely against the "deplorables." We know the answer to that: yes. Instead, the more relevant question is whether the Biden administration is now engaged in a cold war against a broader target: the entire American citizenry. The answer to that question, based on all relevant data and metrics, seems to be the same: yes.

Let's review.

Most obvious and perhaps most important, inflation -- which the Federal Reserve finally recently conceded is not "transitory" but here to stay for a while -- is now the highest it has been in four decades. The Consumer Price Index increased 8.3% in April on an annualized basis -- slightly lower than March's 8.5% clip, but still painfully above the Fed's 2% target. Biden has recently declared fighting inflation to be his top domestic priority, but he shows no appetite for curbing the mass inflationary deficit spending that has characterized his presidency. Nor has Biden communicated to Fed Chair Jerome Powell that he is prepared to accommodate the drastic interest rate hikes that are now necessary to bring inflation back under control.

Biden is also looking to "fight" inflation -- a de facto regressive tax that eats away everyone's savings, but hits lower- and middle-class earners the hardest -- in all the wrong places. The traditional economic definition of inflation is too much money chasing too few goods, but Democrats seem wholly uninterested in working with Republicans on the sort of industrial policy measures needed to immediately revamp domestic production. On the contrary, Biden's priorities are completely backward.

Amidst unprecedented -- and potentially lethal -- shortages in baby formula, he has not acted swiftly to either invoke the Defense Production Act to ramp up domestic production (after his own FDA shut down a baby formula production facility) or temporarily lift the import tariffs that have helped cartelize the domestic baby formula market. At the same time, Biden has openly mused about ending the Trump administration's signature tariffs on China. But all that would accomplish is make the median American consumer even more dependent on our geopolitical arch-foe. Fed-driven monetary policy aside, the way to fight inflation on the fiscal side is to accelerate production -- not to fortify China's cheap-labor sword of Damocles that dangles over the American economy.

Perhaps most revealing, as reported by the Washington Examiner, Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Florida) tweeted photos appearing to show "(s)helves and pallets packed with baby formula" at holding facilities for illegal aliens. This, of course, while actual U.S. citizen parents are frantically scrambling from store to store to ensure their babies don't starve.

Translation: Illegal aliens rule the roost.

But it's not just the open-borders/pro-illegal alien lobby that plays our ruling class like a fiddle; it's also the zealots in the environmentalist movement. During the same week that nearly 30 states are reporting all-time highs for average gas price at the pump, the Biden administration has canceled offshore oil and natural gas leases in both Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. But Biden has simultaneously admitted that energy accounts for a whopping 60% of the inflation Americans are now experiencing. Higher fuel prices for trucks and tractors, after all, trickle down and affect all goods and foodstuffs farmed and shipped.

Amidst this carnage to Americans' savings and retirement accounts, it is unfathomable for the administration to further restrict domestic energy production. The only effect of such restrictions, intended to appease the greenie and Malthusian radicals who increasingly dominate the Democratic donor base, is to make Americans even more energy-dependent on such human rights bastions as Venezuela and Saudi Arabia. Our ruling class, full of virtue-signaling electric car owners, no doubt sleeps well at night as normal gasoline-dependent Americans get annihilated at the pump.

Meanwhile, Congress is racing to pass an emergency $40 billion appropriation in aid to Ukraine, a faraway land now roiling in its fourth calendar month of a crippling humanitarian crisis but hardly a pressing domestic concern. Post-Maidan Revolution Ukraine is a well-known playground for venal slush funds and parochial NGO interests, but that apparently did not give the U.S. House any pause in reviewing the legislation to minimize any gratuitous pork; it rapidly passed Congress' lower chamber by a lopsided tally of 368-57.

The situation in Ukraine is tragic -- but so is the situation at the porous U.S.-Mexico border, which has been completely overrun in recent months by transnational drug cartel-trafficked illegal migrants. Those migrants and cartels are incentivized to make and orchestrate the hazardous journey north due to the Biden administration's various amnesty magnets, such as its return of Obama-era "catch-and-release" policy for illegal aliens in the U.S. interior.

Translation: Ukraine's border with Russia matters more than America's own border with Mexico.

It is difficult to recall the last time a U.S. president persistently acted in a manner so contrary to the interests of the median citizen to whom that president purportedly takes a constitutional oath to protect and defend. Fortunately, Biden's historically low approval ratings hint at a ballot box remedy for our national woes: A red wave beckons this fall.

I believe those lights that were twinkling were Regulus. It was following the East to West with the rest of the stars. We could see it when we got home and it looked the same.

Good morning. Good to know that. Figured out. After you left, James continued to see what he had seen before. He was mystified and amazed. I said yeah, that's what I see every night. This morning at 4 I woke up and looked to the light in the west, the one I described to you as playing hockey. It was very active. I think you can see it too. About 45 degrees from horizon. Can't miss it. Let me know. It was wonderful  having you over, want to do it again. Good day.

Watch: Mom Reads Aloud Purported Assignment Given to Daughter. School Board Cuts Her Mic Because It’s Too Obscene.
May 17, 2022

A Nevada school board temporarily cut off a mother from speaking as she read an assignment reportedly given to her 15-year-old daughter, according to video footage of a school board meeting.

One mother alleged that a teacher at Clark County School District — the nation’s fifth-largest public school district — forced her 15-year-old daughter to memorize and recite “pornographic material.” When the mother began reading the alleged assignment, the school board temporarily cut the mother’s microphone over obscene language.

The Fear of COVID is
Officially Over

When COVID first emerged, many Americans were indeed fearful. Some people had no issues with shutting themselves into their homes, wearing masks, and otherwise taking measures that were marketed as COVID prevention strategies.

As time passed, though, this fear began to fade away. Growing numbers of Americans got tired of restrictions and were eager to get back to their lives. This especially became the case once a series of COVID vaccines and booster shots were readily available to the public.

Fast forward to present day and the fear of COVID is overwhelmingly finished.

The Chicago Mayor is Being Slammed For Her “Book Burning” Tweet

In most cases, when the city of Chicago, Illinois makes headlines, it’s rarely for good reason. At this point, the state is notorious for suffering with high rates of crime and other problems.

With ongoing crime in the community, many people turn to Mayor Lori Lightfoot for answers. To this day, Americans are often left wondering when the Chicago mayor will take steps to significantly bring down the city’s crime rates.

This was a line of questioning that came up recently when Lightfoot slammed supporters of former President Trump’s Make America Great Again movement. Now, similar reactions are underway in light of the mayor’s comments about book burning.

Barking Up the Wrong Tree
On Tuesday, the Chicago mayor tweeted out an image of her reading a book, captioned with a message that she was “in Texas,” reading the material of her choice without thoughts or books “ever” being banned.

The tweet was odd for a series of reasons. For starters, the book Lightfoot was reading, ‘To Kill a Mockingbird,’ is ironically banned by multiple schools in left-wing California, rather than in Texas.

On top of this, it’s unclear why the Chicago mayor dragged the state of Texas into whatever point she was trying to make. All in all, Lightfoot’s obvious attempt to be clever and witty backfired tremendously.

It also reminded the nation of all the problems that exist in her own city. Some Twitter users pointed out that due to the high crime rates in Chicago, Texas might be a safer place to read a book after all.

Other folks tweeted back at Lightfoot, letting her know that instead of making odd comments about Texas and grandstanding online, the mayor should be dealing with criminals in her city.

Lightfoot, however, appears to think differently. Just last month, she argued that a rise of carjackings in Chicago was the end result of perpetrators not feeling “loved” enough.

A Troubling Pattern with Democratic Officials
Lightfoot is far from the only Democrat to take shots at red states without tackling issues at home.

On multiple occasions, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has made snide remarks about Florida, despite all the issues in California ranging from unaffordable living costs, homelessness, and much more.

Likewise, while California wound up losing a seat in the House of Representatives last year, Florida gained thousands of new residents.

Across the board, data shows that Americans are exiting blue states like Illinois and California for red states such as Texas and Florida. This is widely driven by the policies of leaders and legislatures in these communities.

Perhaps this is something Mayor Lightfoot and other Democrats overseeing cities and states should be more concerned about.

Liberals Spraying Divisive Vitriol With a Fire Hose!
May 18, 2022

In the wake of the horrible Buffalo, New York, supermarket shooting, liberal journalists lunged at the opportunity to blame the mass murder on conservative and Republican messengers.

On CNN, S.E. Cupp was especially egregious in accusing the right-wingers of "amplifying" a "white replacement theory," claiming the Democrats expected the influx of immigrants (largely illegal) would eventually lead to red states turning blue. Whites are not being replaced. Democrats just hope they're outnumbered.

Cupp lit into "far-right wing media" (this mostly means Fox) and how "it stirs up racial animus, ethnic animus, religious animus. That is the intended effect of turning neighbor against neighbor and getting people angry and afraid."

Los Angeles Times TV critic Lorraine Ali launched into Tucker Carlson, who "has been ratcheting up the political tension for ages, especially since Biden assumed office, in ways that dovetail dangerously with the Buffalo shooter ... In fact, whipping up fear of The Other, then pretending nothing happened, is Carlson's sweet spot."

These attacks seem completely blind to the notion that their own liberal media outlets stir up racial animus, ethnic animus and religious animus. They turn neighbor against neighbor. They thrive on getting people angry and afraid. They have ratcheted up the political tension for ages.

Ask Larry Elder about the Los Angeles Times. He mocked them in February for an editorial headlined "The Vitriol in Politics Is Driving Good People Out of Public Service." He noted this was the same newspaper that publishes leftist columnist Erika D. Smith, who attacked Elder's gubernatorial campaign with the headline "Larry Elder Is the Black Face of White Supremacy. You've Been Warned." A state senator quoted in that column said Elder would be part of "going back to Jim Crow."

I think calling someone "Jim Crow" or the "Black face of white supremacy" is ... "whipping up fear of The Other."

Ali herself has raged against the "mainstream media" for not being divisive enough against Fox News and other conservative media. They "showed up to this poison-tipped knife fight with plastic sporks."

As for CNN, no one should claim with a straight face that their business model isn't keeping people angry and afraid. Christiane Amanpour recently interviewed ex-evangelical Frank Schaeffer, who compared the GOP to 1930s European fascists and current Islamic dictatorships: "What these people want is a Christian white nationalist version of what you have in Iran today and Saudi Arabia." Amanpour then hailed him as "hugely instructive."

It's still funny to recall a 2019 podcast where Ezra Klein attempted to nudge CNN's Brian Stelter into admitting that all cable news channels stoke anger in their viewers, and Stelter went into denial. That was just a Fox thing: "The idea we're going to make our viewers p---ed -- that is a Roger Ailes business model that was established 20 years ago. Nobody at CNN or MSNBC was thinking about that the way he was."

As for Cupp, it was about one year ago that she went on "Real Time with Bill Maher" and said the Republican Party "makes pornography of patriotism and practically fellates the Founding Fathers ... This is what it looks like when you'd rather rape democracy than come up with your own ideas."

There's nothing wrong with being combative. Being divisive is essential to politics: vote for Us, not Them. But there is something transparently ridiculous in crusading against "divisive vitriol" in politics while you spray it with a fire hose.

When the People Tasked With Protecting Our Children Are the Villains
May 17, 2022

The evidence shows that school closures during COVID were an epic public policy blunder. The school lockdowns in many states were arguably the most significant episode of government-sponsored child abuse in American history.

You don't have to take my word for it. Last week, the liberal New York Times came to the same conclusion after an extensive investigation. The New York Times found:

"Extended school closures appear to have done much more harm than good, and many school administrators probably could have recognized as much by the fall of 2020. In places where schools reopened that summer and fall, the spread of Covid was not noticeably worse than in places where schools remained closed."

The New York Times also found that the primary victims were the lowest-income children. Wealthy families found education alternatives for their children either in their homes or private schools. Children from low-income families barely participated in online lessons.

"This will probably be the largest increase in educational inequity in a generation," said Thomas Kane, an author of a Harvard study on the disparate impact of the COVID lockdowns.

The study also found that most of these school closures occurred "in major cities, which tend to be run by Democratic officials ... Republicans were generally quicker to reopen schools. High-poverty schools are also more likely to have unionized teachers, and some unions lobbied for remote schooling." And all this time, you probably thought Democrats were the party that cares about children.

But there are other villains as well that need to be exposed. Who did this to our children?

The teachers unions were probably the most shameful player, the worm in the education apple. Even after months of evidence that in-class instruction posed virtually no danger to children or teachers, they wouldn't teach. They treated COVID as a paid vacation, even as private and Catholic schools down the street were open. In September of last year, nearly 90% of the Chicago teachers even voted to go on strike after not teaching for six months.

They weren't the only ones in on the crime against our nation's children. Let's not forget about the inexcusable role of the American Academy of Pediatrics. This group of children's doctors originally called for entire school openings for the 2020-21 school year. That was based on science.

But then, politics intervened. Two weeks later, the group did a sudden 180-degree reversal and joined in solidarity with the teachers unions calling for closing schools. They even signed joint statements with the unions.

It's not hard to understand why the pediatricians pulled the rug out from beneath our children. Every study has shown that pediatricians are politically liberal and more so than any other medical group.

Pediatricians were regularly on TV or elsewhere in the news, falsely spooking parents about the dangers of sending children to school. It was propaganda -- the big lie.

What is so chilling and unforgivable about this tale is that teachers and pediatricians are the people entrusted by parents and society at large to care for and educate children. They are supposed to have our sons' and daughters' best interests at stake regarding their health and well-being. But they selfishly put politics and paychecks ahead of child welfare.

So Democratic politicians, teachers unions and pediatricians formed an alliance to deny our children schooling. These are the people who sanctimoniously lecture us about the necessity of "following the science." Yet they ignored it. They peddled fear, not facts, and perhaps Biden's new ministry of "misinformation" might want to investigate them.

May 17, 2022

Late-night TV host Seth Meyers unloaded on Fox News' Tucker Carlson on Monday night, saying that the conservative TV host helped to inspire the horrific massacre that took the lives of at least 10 people at a Buffalo, New York, supermarket on Saturday.

Meyers made the remarks on the same day that broadcaster Megyn Kelly hit out at media figures attempting to politicize the tragedy.

What are the details?
Meyers addressed the mass killing during Monday night's "Late Night with Seth Meyers," saying that he believed that Carlson was complicit in helping spread a conspiracy theory known as the Great Replacement.

NPR defines the theory as stating "that non-white individuals are being brought into the United States and other Western countries to 'replace' white voters to achieve a political agenda."

“With prominent figures on the right embracing and parroting the dangerous white nationalist conspiracy theory known as the Great Replacement, it’s worth noting that in addition to being deeply racist, bigoted, and dehumanizing, it’s also incredibly stupid,” Meyers said during a Monday night segment.

He accused Carlson of being guilty of downplaying right-wing domestic terrorism. In 2019, Carlson addressed white supremacy terrorism as small-scale and said that the movement's "combined membership of every white supremacist organization in this country would be able to fit inside a college football stadium."

Meyers zeroed in on those remarks during the segment, saying, “First of all, a college football stadium can fit like 100,000 people, which is a ton of people! If I told you, ‘Don’t worry, I rounded up all the white supremacists' and walked you into here, I don’t think your reaction would be, ‘Phew!’”

He added that Carlson has "openly and repeatedly promoted replacement theory on his show.”

“No one is being replaced. There’s no capacity limit here," he said. "It’s not like there’s a bouncer who only lets two in when two leave. Just think about how breathtakingly dumb the logic here is. No one gets replaced when another person enters the country.”

What else?
During Monday's episode of "The Megyn Kelly Show," Kelly said that those people trying to politicize the shooting are contributing to division.

“We will not be naming the shooter on this program, consistent with our policy of not naming mass shooters, who in part are out for infamy, and we decline to help," she said during the broadcast. "He’s pleaded not guilty, but he also left behind a trove of information, including a 180-page manifesto filled with racist and anti-Semitic commentary. The shooter was white. Detailing how and why he picked his target.”

She added that media talking heads who tried to blame Carlson and other conservatives for the shooting are "outrageous."

“Some in the media have been quick to point fingers and even place blame on our friend and very popular Fox News host, Tucker Carlson," she pointed out. "It’s outrageous. It’s wrong, both factually and morally."

Becoming further outraged, Kelly added, "Why do we have to go to that place immediately on these stories? Why can’t we spend two f***ing minutes mourning the people who are dead and trying to understand that we have insane people in this country? We have lunatics. It’s a huge country!”

Kelly pointed out that there's no way to eradicate the "lunatics" from the country, and attempting to politicize such a horrific tragedy will only further divide Americans.

"People have to inject their politics into everything. And this guy had a racist manifesto. There’s no question that doesn’t make it Tucker Carlson’s fault," she insisted. "Just stop it. Just stop it!”

Crooks steal cash from man, then a day later break into his home. But this time victim shoots two of them dead, holds other two at gunpoint until cops arrive.
May 17, 2022

An Indiana homeowner fatally shot two armed intruders who broke into his DeKalb County residence early Sunday morning — and then held at gunpoint a third intruder, as well as a fourth person who was outside, until police arrived.

The crooks and the homeowner weren't exactly strangers. Turns out the foursome stole cash from the homeowner the day before, WPTA-TV reported.

How did this all unfold?
The homeowner was asleep inside his residence in the 1600 block of State Road 8 just outside Auburn on Sunday, the station said, citing court documents. It was around 6 a.m. when a break-in commenced, Indiana State Police told WXIN-TV.

The homeowner told police he woke up to his dog barking and saw three people in his home — Tabitha L. Johnson, Dylan Morefield, and Rameica Moore, WPTA said.

The homeowner said Morefield and Moore threatened him and at times held a gun to his head, the station said, adding that all three began stealing items from his home and demanding money, the station reported.

But he reminded them that they took all his money the day before, so the homeowner told police they made him write a check with no name on it for $500, WPTA said.

A fatal turning of the tables
The homeowner said he was able to retrieve his shotgun, and he fatally shot Morefield and Moore, the station said. The coroner confirmed that the pair died of their injuries, WPTA reported. Moore was 36 and Morefield was 22, state police told WXIN.

The homeowner said he took the third burglar — Johnson, who is 42 years old — out of his home, where he found another man, 42-year-old Shaun T. Kruse, WPTA said.

He said he held the pair at gunpoint and told Kruse to call 911, the station said. The homeowner said his home phone was destroyed, and his cell phones were stolen before he could call for help, WPTA reported.

What happened the day before?
The homeowner told police the same four people came to his home Saturday aggressively demanding money, the station said, citing court documents.

Turns out he knows Johnson — the third burglar — as she occasionally stayed with him over the last decade, and she had been messaging the homeowner about needing $3,000 because “some bad people thought she had stolen it from them," WPTA reported.

The homeowner told police he had only $65 cash on him Saturday, which the group took, the station said. He added to police that they wanted him to go to the bank and get money, continuing their threats, but eventually left because his bank was closed Saturday, WPTA said.

Kruse admitted to police that he drove Johnson, Morefield, and Moore to the victim's home Saturday, the station said, citing court documents. Kruse added that while they were there, Morefield and Moore engaged in a confrontation with the homeowner in an attempt to get money from him, and Morefield was the aggressor, WPTA said.

Kruse said all four of them got together later Saturday and discussed going back to the victim’s house to get more money and take his car and other property, the station said.

When the foursome returned to the home, Morefield was “talking about being gangster over and over," Kruse told police, WPTA reported. Morefield also told Kruse to get in the driver’s seat while he and Johnson and Moore entered the home, the station said.

Kruse said the three began bringing stolen items to the car, but shortly afterward the homeowner came out with a shotgun and told Kruse to call 911, WPTA said.

Police added that Johnson admitted to being at the home both days and said that she was trying to get her items from the home, the station said.

Now what?
Kruse and Johnson are charged with two counts of murder and burglary with a deadly weapon, WPTA said. In Indiana, people can be charged with murder if a death takes place while they're committing a felony — even if they didn't actually do the killing, WPTA reported in a separate story. Indiana State Police are investigating, the station added.

The homeowner is not facing criminal charges at this time, police told WPTA.

The Future Has Spoken: America’s Kids Sound Off on Current Events
May 17, 2022

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D., Calif.), the lawmaker best known for farting on live television and cavorting with a Chinese spy, on Monday received a considerable amount of social media engagement after relaying a conversation he had with his precocious toddler about the mass shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo.

"My 4-year-old just FaceTimed to ask what I'm doing to ‘help the people in Buffalo' and ‘why did the bad man do this?'" Swalwell wrote on Twitter, the popular social networking website. "Absolutely gutting. This cannot be his normal. It's time to BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS. #EndGunViolence."

The congressman's tweet inspired the Washington Free Beacon to ask our readers with young children to interrogate their kids about politics in order to get a sense of where they stand on some of the most controversial issues of the day. Here are some of the most insightful responses we received:

A woman from New York was driving through a remote part of Arizona when her car broke down. An American Indian on horseback came along and offered her a ride to a nearby town. She climbed up behind him on the horse and they rode off.

The ride was uneventful, except that every few minutes the Indian would let out a 'Ye-e-e-e-h-a-a-a-a' so loud that it echoed from the surrounding hills.

When they arrived in town, he let her off at the local service station, yelled one final 'Ye-e-e-e-h-a-a-a-a!' and rode off.

'What did you do to get that Indian so excited?' asked the service-station attendant.

'Nothing,' the woman answered. 'I merely sat behind him on the horse, put my arms around his waist, and held onto the saddle horn so I wouldn't fall off.'

'Lady,' the attendant said, 'Indians don't use saddles'.
