Today begins Demolition Season

Here's the short story.
About 2 months ago, Sherry the Landlord, issued Notices concerning a hike in utilities costs.
We had this one knuckelhead renting the short room in the garage.
It was converted into residences without permits 20 years ago.
Knuckelhead went psycho.
He called the Code Peeps.
We got served.
So did the kh.
He's now living in his tiny little jeep, HA!
So then, I had to vacate my RV.
So I moved into the Motel Room in the garage.
Was there 5 days, then we contacted Louie to
fulfill the other Gov. mandate without a Court Hearing.
He have to DESTROY the interior garage. Dividing walls, Bathroom and Wood Stove.
This has caused financial hardship, cuz the 2 rental units are gone.
So we're losing money, and spending big to comply.
I'm in my RV since yesterday.
Louie and crew should be done soon.
A bit of clean up, and I'm back in the garage again.
My/Our whole life has been disrupted by one lousy loudmouth psycho brat!

Needed to apply to get the permit. Then You have to pay for it as well. Just expensive. $$ is the main issue. electricians, plumbers, carpenters, garage door, etc. Then they even charge you for someone to come out to inspect the work that was done.
Rental income has been affected.
The Governor of Ca passed a new ordinance about 6 months ago, that people can convert their garage into a living space. Was illegal to do so up until then. The bathroom was not constructed to code. It would cost thousands to rebuild.

Everyone in the neighbourhood who has bad code buildings should become part of a co-operative group, each helping each other out. The agreement is that each person offers his expertise and willingness and experience and work; hopefully the combined expertise will achieve the necessary standard of work.
But it has to be done with a contract binding all parties to assist each other as per the agreed-upon buildings (which have to be listed in the contract), so that it doesn't end up with number 1 cocking his snoot at the others once his building's done.

Each Local Government Area or council area comes under its own council. You do need to get a permit and makes the plans as required; however, as long as something isn't perceived to be unsafe by others (and that's assuming that what is built is even visible to neighbours), it is probably somewhat unlikely to be reported.
There are some scoundrels around who purport to be licensed this or licensed that. (For example, unlicensed roofie caused us no end of trouble. My father trusted someone he shouldn't have trusted; he wasn't completely back to himself after 3 months in ICU. Otherwise my father would have been much more scrupulous in checking his credentials.) But mostly in Australia the tradesmen are licensed. Some are truly lovely people. We use a plumber, for instance, who is amazingly helpful and a lovely bloke. He never overcharges.)
My view is... is it safe? If so, there'd better be a very good reason for even thinking about reporting someone. Life's too short for going about looking for something to report...

In the aftermath of my father's death, I contacted a landscaper to help us with the front garden. He's the son of two people who were professional singers/singing teachers, for whom I've performed in the past, and in fact I gained my LMusA (Music) with his father as my examiner. Thoroughly nice man. He was incredibly kind and quoted us such a good price that I did actually cry a little.
The front garden had become rather wild and overtaken with weeds. The steps up the side of the steep driveway needed to be replaced. The horrible rotted black plastic had to come up; mulch/bark had to be placed over the entire front sloping garden. He had one bloke with him and they worked from 7 am right through until... I think 7 pm. It was a very very very full day's work, but they committed to doing it in one day to save us costs. Our landscaper friend even gifted us with two rose bushes that were planted in honour of my father. The garden now looks magnificent and I am enjoying maintaining it, to which end I have a lot of new gardening tools and the best watering can in the world.
Sometimes you can come across people whose hearts are generous and who go above and beyond the usual expectation.

The local gov has strong armed us to
PAY for the destruction of our Paradise/Income Property.
We're camping in campers as the demo project drags on.
We own homes and don't live in them.

This is all about to change, and Brother, the Wheels are Grinding.

Where do I begin?

Here is the present condition.
The garage has been stripped of its interior walls.
A garafe door is required to meet code.
CODE...was a letter, and Sherry's phone chats with those Crats.
They strong-armed us on the garage code shite, AND...my Trailer Park scene.
I'm still in the trailer.
The garage is in limbo, and Sherry plans on helping me bug out outta here and crash land in Montello in the early days of October.
It's her plan to accumulate my Covidollars up to then, and I will have the coin to finance my own move adventure.
I say to you: That is not 100% effective.
I need to expedite this trip.
Beat the weather.
Beat rising gas prices
Beat the system. I'm Trailer Parking on MY Property there.
Taxes paid. MY House!
There's a Lien, more later.
2 plans of moving:
U Haul and good luck securing loading crew teams on both ends.
Hire the pros who claim they do it all door to door.
I like this one.
Plus I need to transport my House Trailer, and my unusual proposal has been met with NO.
I need to transport it separately.
Sherry says save my income money ( Covidollars) for 3 months and have enuff to finance the 2 moves.
I say: Get a loan, move now and pay back with my Covidollars.
FUNDRAISING.
In addition to the move, I need to get new wheel bearing on my Rig.
I must prepare my House.
Fix the water, secure power and internet.
I have a Locksmith task there. Gotta pay for that.

I plan to go there, post up in my trailer in the back and set up my House for Commerce.
Income property.
I need $5,000 to pull this off, and I'm desperate to get out of Big Bear.
I ask of you to help me do this.
I can't do much for myself anymore.
I don't know many people.

Ok, so on the trailer spare tire issue, I'm a day late
but the dollars are good.
We have delayed transport time to accommodate the
acquisition of the NEW spare tire, cuz nobody sells
used tires on the mountain, and that's pretty lame.
Wait for a new one delivered next day.
My Trailer Home will be on it's way back to T-Town.
I continue to dwell in the Man Cave-inn.
I'm bunking with 3/4 tons of cargo/personal belongings/tools and equipment.
Nothing new to me.
I kinda like it cuz I survive it.
If you have ever been a Desert Rat, you can relate.
If not, you are probably a sellout wanna-be Suburbanite.
And there's a crime scene factor here.
Our front yard tree was attacked and maimed by a
large blade slung by the new tenant kid.
I say 90 Days in The Hole for him.

I primered the barn doors; am proceeding on finish coats. The heat and humidity is mean.
Have enuff primer for front porch painting issue. Will have enuff white paint to finish it.
Fundraising is going slow but fine.
Cuz not all around garage things will fit in here, I'm looking for other places to temp. stash them for the Realtor video.
The lumber.... 2x4s from walls tear out....where do they go? Need to know. I want them for green house dome at my house. Cash Barter Trade. Need to know.

Not everything foot-related is a little friendly dig at you... Some things are, but not everything.
My chainsaw situation involves a fallen tree in the neighbour's back yard pushing against our mutual fence. I've chainsawed the huge amount of tree (long long heavy branches) that had fallen over the fence and was suspended over our back garden, but the rest (uprooted in neighbour's yard) is still leaning against the fence. I dare not chainsaw it using a normal ladder; I have ascertained that ascending a ladder on uneven ground and wielding a chainsaw is exactly what not to do for my own safety.
There. That's the chainsaw situation.

I've got to buy a replacement wine glass for my picnic basket, but even if I buy, say, 3 or even 5 glasses, that's still silly if they're coming from the UK or from France.
