Title: Weird email from PayPal
Post by: Poddy on November 03, 2010, 05:33:07 PM
I have just receiver an email from PayPal, here is a portion of it

We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in yourfavour. You have indicated that a partial refund of 0 would be satisfactory.  If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against theseller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's accountprivileges.

I agreed to no such thing

Is that a cut and paste of the email...including all the bits that are wrong?

Possible phishing email?

It was not a large amount bit its the principle of the thing, I'll let you know the results.

I seem to be involved in a couple of 'missions' at the moment.

poddy,

Different countries have different P$P refund policies.

Basically if seller has no funds P$P can not grab you are wasting you time. Also it is the person who esculates the dispute to a claom is the person who controls the dispute.

So if seller escuates the buyers dispute to  a claim,  the seller can then close dispute with zero payout.

The best defence is to allways pay P$P with a credit card and NEVER verify any bank account. That way you can always do a credit card charge back and get your money back one way or the other. P$P does notice CC charge back and then starts to do its job.
