Title: Paypal $20 credit
Post by: vacuumdog on October 31, 2009, 06:14:48 PM
Anyone else seen this?

The initial ad said

Now I reckon that's 'baiting'.

Offer applies to purchases at one of the following merchants: Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Evans, Cloggs, Shoebuy.com, Karma Loop, Bidz.com, Bling Bling Online, Sasa, Eastbay, UKSoccerShop, SimplyHike.co.uk, SimplyScuba.com, ChainReactionCycles.com, Wiggle Ltd, Digital Rev, Deal Extreme, Zynga, FocalPrice, Tiny Deal, Taobaodao.com, AllPosters, BetterWorldBooks, Overstock.com, PetCo, Hello Baby, Agoda, BangCD.com, Seiya Japan, Hobby-Wing.com (the " qualifying Merchants").

Don't get me wrong, PayPal is my prefered form of payment as a purchaser and for buyers on my website. Just seems that they could have done something for eBay sellers/buyers in Australia instead of advertising to Aussie buyers to buy from the OS market.

nice bump VD yes I have seen these offers before and immediatley delete them...
I als think its a disgrace that they promote foreign companies only on these promo's and actively state that due to the strong Aussie $ the deals are better still ..... one of the copmpanies promoted have created havoc for quite a few people who have bought from them under this promo .... here is a link to a forum in relation to some of these probs ... but if you google the company concerned it will raise concerns
http://slickdeals.net/forums/archive/index.php/t-1525063.html

its not actually a scam .... but be sure you know exactly what you are doing when you go through the checkout or you will end up paying twice and having a hell of a nightmare trying to reconcile and fix up the financials .....

vacuumdog,

Maybe they had a few complaints like yours about PayPal offers only for overseas merchants.

The latest Christmas promotion includes a good range of Australian stores.

And it's great to see they are looking after not only the eBay merchants.
