I am trying to report a NARU seller that has re-emerged under a different ID selling exactly same products, same listing content and same seller's name. I have reported using the 'report this page' on the seller's item listing page. Is there a better way to do it so that eBay takes notice and gets rid of the seller before any more people are ripped off?
-
Wish I had some words of advice Wheels but ebay generally ignore consumers on these issues in my experience. It's fairly typical for recidivist frauds to sign up under completely different names and start up all over again....Half of Qld's fraud complaints for 2007 were traced back to 23 recidivists with 100's of Ebay Id's between them. Seem surprising?
Until Ebay start verifying sellers, the whole idea of a safe ebay marketplace is a bit of a joke. Anonymous sellers, anonymous buyers, and an absentee landlord. Sorry...they just don't seem to care. 2008 should have taught us that.
-
Hi Wheels, other than what you have already done the only other option is to report the id itself to T&S.
-
Thanks Cupie and Ivy,
I just found an email address and sent an email with details of the previous ID (incl their negs report on toolhaus) and new ID. They are unbelievable! NARU in Jan 09. New ID in Feb 09, started selling again end Apr 09.
I'll let you know if anything happens.
-
Wheels, have you talked to extreme_redeye about this? He is a master at reporting fraudulent sellers...
-
No, but I got the email address from one of his posts on the eBay boards.
-
This is a real problem.
I think it highlights the necessity for verification. This sort of repeat-offence thing could not be so easily enabled if eBay verified its members.

Let me just say I am happy to report the opposite, I have had a good response to a terrible buyer / seller from the US, I wont go into long boring details but she was shocking, multiple IDs, fraud, stalking and abuse, she would use her ME page to bash other members.
She was of course reported via the correct procedure, eBay were supplied the evidence and they dealt with her by banning her IP for life. She was never an issue again ;)
EBay do act, why would they not? it is there best interest to.
Let me just add though, it didn’t happen over night. It took a lot of time and effort, eBay need to make sure the claims are not malicious in themselves. I guess.

:applause: :yess:
New ID now NARU!!
-
:t2: victory to the good guys
well done
-
LOL...See they do do something!!
Great outcome!
-
Good stuff Wheels ;D
I had a similar situation not so long ago, where I could see what was happening but people where still buying from the guy.
I contacted trust & safety with an outline of the story, they wrote back asking for more detail and any suspect ID's which I forwarded. It took a few days but eventually this guys four selling ID's were all naru'd. I would recognise this character if he ever returned but he never has.

G'day Riff , your face is still looking a bit worse for wear there
is that the only place you are injured ?
Imp you may need to cut your nails !
-
I'm surprised that eBay took action so quickly but I'm pleased that they have. There are still a lot of buyers who paid for items from the previous ID and never received the items or a refund. Maybe the war against inflation is finally won! 8)
-
G'day Smee :neener: :t2:

There are still a lot of buyers who paid for items from the previous ID and never received the items or a refund.
That's why eBay recommends PayPal wheels.
-
Yes, Riff, I learned my lesson well after being ripped off by Leisure Imports. I still use bank transfer if the price is under about $10 and it is a small seller, otherwise all purchases are now with creditcard via Paypal. Doubles my chances of claiming a refund if ever needed!
-
I thought I had copped my first ever non paying bidder last week too
but they have now paid but only after I had to open a non paying bidder dispute
Thing is they sent me a msg saying payment was being made so I acted in good faith and sent the item
from Aust Post trcking number I could tell they received item at 10.45am on last tues which is when I sent them a reminder invoice but still hadnt heard peep out of them by thurs night so opened non paying bidder dispute and they paid by pay pal next day so ebay must have messaged them
Still no feedback though which is probabley a good thing coz although they got item 3 days before paying I wouldnt trust them not to mark down dsr's out of spite ...... Bloody Queenslanders :pmsl:
-
Bloody Queenslanders
Oi !! I resemble that remark !! :roflmao:
-
your not from Toowoomba though Riff are you
-
Nah...not Toowoomba. I know people there though...........funny, they get free stuff all the time ;D
-
Smee, you know that the world turns slower in Queensland (I'm an ex Queenslander so I'm allowed to say that!) and they probably consider that they paid you promptly!
-
Where abouts up here in sunny QLD were you wheels?
-
I wouldnt have cared if they got it free
That would have been my fault for posting prior to receiving payment
but at least they could have messaged me saying
thanks for the free dvd we aint paying nananana :neener:nah
I just hate having outstanding transactions in my "my ebay"
-
Riff, I'm from a little town not far from where Smee posted his giveaway parcel to.
-
That would have been a nice surprise for you then Smee.
See..........Queenslanders come through when it counts ;D
-
I know the area well wheels. Gatton, Yarraman, Dalby all have bike parks & race tracks that we frequent.
-
Great part of the world Riff. Spent a few months back there last year when I moved in with Mum after she was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Living in Melbourne for so long I'd forgotten what small towns are like. Everywhere I went I would run into someone who knew me or my family!
-
It's nice for a day trip wheels but I'm attached to city living. I like my conveniences ;D
-
conveniences are good, specially after a good curry!
-
I set that one up for ya Imps ;D
I knew you'd be along with a fart joke soon enough ;D
-
luv ya style Riffster!
