During the presidential campaign, the Biden administration introduced a new word into the lexicon: a “lid.” His campaign has called a lid countless times without explanation, meaning it was cutting off all media appearances for that day.

Joe Biden went on vacation to Camp David just before Afghanistan fell to the Taliban and gave no public remarks on the matter until more than 24 hours after the fall of Kabul. That was a speech Biden delivered from the White House Monday, after which he took no questions from the media.

He went silent again, then delivered another speech on Wednesday, this time on COVID. He took no media questions after the conclusion of this address. He sat for an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos Wednesday. That interview has caused yet more problems. Biden’s performance in it has been seen as heartless and incoherent.

Fox News reports that Biden has effectively called a lid, this time indefinitely.

In what appears to be a continuation of his campaign bunker strategy, and following his widely panned interview with ABC News on the stunning fall of Afghanistan, President Biden’s schedule Thursday contained no planned public remarks or press briefings.

The president took all public remarks, press briefings and press conferences off his schedule as he and his administration deal with the blowback from their botched troop withdrawal that saw Kabul fall into the hands of the Taliban.

Biden has taken public appearances off his schedule without explanation. Reports indicate he has left Washington for his home state of Delaware, or soon will.

Kamala Harris has announced a trip to Singapore and Vietnam after being silent throughout the Afghanistan crisis.

Afghanistan remains a chaotic and extremely dangerous tinderbox with thousands of Americans stranded and surrounded by the Taliban while they await evacuation.

But Joe Biden has walked away again and called a lid.

According to the source, Harris reportedly screamed, “They will not pin this shite on me.” A similar report was provided to other news reporters as well regarding the happenings inside the White House.

Multiple Democrats are out in public bashing Joe Biden for the calamitous withdrawal from Afghanistan that left at least 15,000 Americans trapped behind Taliban checkpoints.

The Biden administration admitted to the Americans on the ground that it could not guarantee their safety if they tried to flee to the Kabul airport to evacuate the country.

In an interview with KPIX in San Francisco, Pelosi tried to spin Biden’s disastrous withdrawal plan as “strong” and “decisive.”

Pelosi also tried to claim that the Taliban could be trusted to guarantee safe passage for Americans to their airport.

“Well, first, may I just say that I commend the President for the action that he took. It was strong. It was decisive. And it was the right thing to do. We should have been out of Afghanistan a while back. But now, we are — unfortunately, one of the possibilities was that it would be in disarray, as it is. But that has to be corrected.

And it is my understanding, from the assurances we have received, that the military will be there, negotiating with the Taliban for the safe exit of American citizens and friends, people who have helped us, our allies there, and people who work in the nonprofit sector, but also, not just U.S. NGOs, but those who have worked in Afghan NGOs as well, who would be targets,” Pelosi stated.

There are already reports out of Afghanistan that the Taliban are murdering Afghans with bibles on their phones and Taliban fighters killed at least one woman for not wearing a burqa.

A Senate aide told CBS news that the administration admitted it has no plan to evacuate Americans trapped in Afghanistan who reside outside of Kabul.

That is not strong or decisive.

And the deteriorating situation on the ground with Americans trapped behind enemy lines exposes Nancy Pelosi’s comments as delusional and why other Democrats are not eager to defend Joe Biden.

Last month, Joe Biden promised Americans that the Afghan army could defend the country and America would not see a repeat of the 1975 humiliation in Saigon where helicopters evacuated the remaining Americans off the roof of the embassy after Vietnam fell to the communists.

But that’s exactly what happened in Kabul and the Taliban took power with ease as the Afghan army gave up.

There was even a photo of a helicopter evacuating embassy personnel which led Democrat Senator Sheldon Whitehouse to comment that his father was the next-to-last American Ambassador in Saigon and that what happened in Kabul reminded him of the embarrassment from 1975.

Intelligence agencies are pushing back Wednesday against the White House narrative that the sudden fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban caught the administration off guard.

The New York Times reports intelligence sources who claimed by July their reports seriously questioned the Afghan military’s ability to resist the Taliban, even as Biden was telling reporters at the White House that it was unlikely that the government would fall.

“The likelihood there’s going to be the Taliban overrunning everything and owning the whole country is highly unlikely,” he said July 8th.

While even the intelligence agencies could not have predicted the nearly immediate collapse of the Afghanistan government, Biden failed to acknowledge growing concerns from analysts in the Summer.

Biden Shrugs Off American Deaths With This Announcement

The Biden Defense Dept. said this week that they “do not have the capability” to rescue Americans who are stuck in Afghanistan and cannot get to the airport and that they will stay there “until the clock runs out,” hinting that the U.S. military will stand by its time frame of leaving Afghanistan by Aug. 31st, regardless of Americans being left behind.

Later Wed., however, during an interview with ABC News, President Biden hinted that troops could stay in Afghanistan past the August 31st date if there are still Americans who are attempting to get out.

The State Dept. also said this week that, based on reports from the capitol city, the Taliban is not following their agreement to allow Americans and their Afghan allies to leave the country. The statement came after a question about a security alert sent this week informing Americans that the U.S. government could not ensure their security if they attempted to go to the Kabul airport.

In a press conference this week, Defense Sec. Lloyd Austin was blunt about his assessment of American abilities, particularly in regard to the up to 15,000 American citizens who are still stuck in Afghanistan, mostly outside of Kabul.
