I have to admit it, I’m tired of doing these posts, but more than that, I’m tired of the negativity in our community. I’m tired of the lack of civility. I’m tired of the lies, tired of the misleading and twisted half truths. I’m tired of worrying who will get verbally attacked, who will get sued, which community servant is dreading going to work today. I don’t want any more mental or emotional energy going toward this cause.
I think for those who don’t feed off of chaos and mistrust and retribution and drama, we might all be a little tired these days. I hope you can muster the energy to vote. Vote for what and who you care about. Skip what you don’t. No judgement.

Controversy As SNL Invites Real Live Comedian To Perform

NEW YORK, NY — Saturday Night Live, a show dedicated solely to solemn social critiques and pedantic lectures, has made waves after inviting a real live comedian to perform.

With actual comedian Dave Chapelle slated to host SNL this weekend, the show's writers and cast members were reportedly working tirelessly to prepare for the exposure to comedy.

"It's a big change for us, trying this 'comedy' thing," said castmember Kate McKinnon while using air quotes. McKinnon is best known for her recurring role as Hillary Clinton being somber, sad, and full of gloom. "I've been working on a few 'jokes' myself. Here's my best one..."

McKinnon then proceeded to rant for seven minutes on how Donald Trump was a bad man.

Other cast members have been working on material that they believe this Chapelle fellow would find funny. Cecily Strong, for instance, prepared an outright hilarious sketch about how abortions should be required by law. Michael Che wrote a laugh-out-loud bit in which he calls all white people demons again. Showing the most comedic potential of the group, Pete Davidson was seen staring at a wall and drooling. The entire SNL cast seemed to be rising to the challenge of being funny.

At publishing time, SNL stirred up more controversy by inviting an actual guest musician, Megadeth.

My daughters hubby and family. My daughter medically retired as a Sgt, from being an Army Medic after 10 yrs give or take. Her hubby is active duty still and is an Warrant officer II in the Army. So when Uncle Sam makes plans for him, and he has to take his joeys out to the field or abroad, or as it was put, a mission and was gone 7 months. So this old wicket witch flies out there to baby sit the kids. (Daughter attends nursing school in FL and not always home) So when he was home off and on, we would binge watch Squid Games, Yellowstone and a few others. lol I'll be flying back in February as he comes out here to Fort Irwin for training. Hint, hint, that is a good sign he will be deploying again. To where and when has not been disclosed. It's the life of an Army Mom. Hooah!

This evening was like...."Hole Light". I had the means to escape. Stayed inside, warm with propane heater. I'm doing OK, how are you?

this one was an easy one to know problems would happen.... I filmed just after Midnight... you couldnt hardly see across the street... there were power outages big bear, sky forrest crest line... Im sure others too. there were lots of flickers. Outside was totally not first choice of where to be. In our mountains Winter storms equal lots of challenges... I got a lot accomplished today despite the cell signals so bad it rquired going upstairs or nothing...I was reading about many having similar fun and adventures related to mountain storms...

Power outage is Valleywide

Crews from Bear Valley Electric and Edison are working to restore power in Big Bear Valley after the first significant winter storm arrived in the mountains on Nov. 8.

Power has been off and on throughout much of the day. It became a Valleywide issue when all of Edison’s lines went down, said Bear Valley Electric Service president Paul Marconi.  “Edison lost power in Lucerne Valley a new finally got it back on,” Marconi said. “They have been unable to communicate with the Gold Line substation near the dump.”

Marconi said Edison has sent a crew up to investigate the problem and a BVES crew is meeting them at the location. Marconi said he was hopeful that power could be restored in the East Valley tonight.


The Edison line that connects from Redlands is also down. Bear Valley crews are being allowed to travel down Highway 38 to the Radford Line substation to get that line back up and running. The Radford line powers the Village area to the dam on the south shore.

There are some areas that will take longer, Marconi said. Tress down in Moonridge and on the North Shore have caused outages and may take longer to repair. “Fawnskin may be out for a while,” Marconi said.

The Big Bear Grizzly will update this story as new information becomes available.

A powerful winter storm delivered on its promise to drench Southern California with very heavy rain, snow, and strong gusty winds.

Winds around the Big Bear Valley were clocked over 80mph with a recorded gust of 82 mph in Baldwin Lake and 101 mph at Burns Canyon east of Big Bear, with upwards of 3-5 inches of rain in a few locations and a few inches of snow. Looking at a cold and breezy day out there under clearing as our storm exits the region. Expect west to northwest winds 10-20mp at times with highs in the lower to mid 30's. Clear skies this evening will set us up for a chilly night as lows drop into the teens tonight. The remainder of the week looks cold and breezy with temperatures running 10-15 degrees below average as highs reach the 40's through the weekend while lows dip into the teens and 20's. Another, much weather system will bring our next shot and rain and snow towards early next week, details to come. If you have to travel, due so with extreme caution, be prepared for extreme winter weather driving conditions, and always carry tire chains!
