When it comes to the Covid circus,sadly,many people don't care about others. All they care about are conspiracies and the desperate need to be right.
If it doesn't make sense to them or suit their line of thinking,they simply don't care,and everyone else be damned.
In their eyes, "We who wear masks are stupid sheep and we don't matter,and we should keep our asses home".??
So here we go again,round 2😥 People would rather argue over covid statistics, people would rather bully each other over what they believe verses what someone else may believe. People prefer to fuss and fight amongst themselves rather than do something as simple as wearing a damn mask in public.😠
None of us like the damn mask. None of us think it's cute. None of us think it's a new fashion statement.
Many of us have chosen to wear the damn mask and social distance in Hope's of in the least protecting others.
We ALL want to get back to some type of normal life. But it's NOT going to happen, because no matter what we do, no matter what we say, no matter how hard we try, there's people that are simply not going to do what is asked because they firmly believe they know better than anyone.
The polite term is,"self serving". Yet these same people don't want to take responsibility for being the reason that people are losing their homes, and their businesses, and their jobs,and sadly in some cases their lives,the polite term is "narcissistic"😥

And sadly, due to the non-compliance in Part 2 I predict we will have a Part 3. As they continue to hash out the next stimulus bill they should consider adding funding to build more cemeteries...😢

I'm going to wear a mask for a long time. My parents are elderly. The Dad guy has Alzheimer's and Dementia. My Mom, his wife of 66 years is his main care taker. He's on hospice and there us no way I could handle losing my parents.

I just drove through the village it took me 40 minutes to get from the end of pine knot to the big Lodge then about 25 minutes to get back around through the village in leave. I noticed probably more than half of the people we're not wearing masks and we're not distancing whatsoever and it actually looked like there was more people up here then there had been previously this year during the whole covid experience.

Jo Ann Thompson Because many stores cannot social distance, especially if we are talking about our own community. Small stores equals big spread of the virus. Especially when we have our out of towners here every single day. We are averaging more than ten new cases in the valley every single day. I dont see how staying open is helping our locals. We need a stimulus and then we can sit tight at home as needed.

I know! People think that wearing a mask is taking away their freedom. I have seen memes that say if the government told you to jump off a cliff, that mask wearers would jump. Or that masks don’t work. I don’t care either way! Wear a stupid mask! If you aren’t a doctor or nurse then don’t say that they don’t work! Your opinion is irrelevant to me! Just shut up and wear the darn mask!!! It won’t kill you! If everyone just did what they were told then we would be in less of a situation!

I just drove to Bear City and back home to Big Bear Lake, it took nearly 30 minutes to get to Bear City and almost twice that long to get back to Big Bear Lake, had to stop by Walgreens, OMFG, line of people from the cash register nearly to the back of the store, more than half had masks worn around their chins, laughing and coughing, ignoring social distancing, if this is what 20% capacity of stores looks like then I must be on the wrong planet, and I thought essential travel was ordered, hmmm, I guess it must have been essential to pack the resorts and snow play was a joke, no masks, no social distancing, OMFG, are you kidding me, it was more crowded today than it has been when there was no pandemic, 😜😜😜😜😜😝

Jey Allen it's nothing more than a typical weekend during the winter season in Big Bear. Minus all the snow and cars sliding around. All the stores are always packed on the weekends, CVS Walgreens Stater Brothers Kmart, Vons, Dollar Tree... there's nothing different this weekend that we all haven't experienced time and time and time again. The difference is we're frustrated. Many of us are beyond frustrated and when people start getting frustrated they start getting angry and everything gets blown out of proportion. There's absolutely nothing different happening now than what happens every winter season, except for the fact that covid-19 has intruded on all of our lives uninvited .All we can do is our part. Wear masks, social distance, do the best you can and cross your fingers that the majority does the same?

I suppose seeing all this activity and knowing people were ordered not to travel, or maybe it's the stores ignoring the 20% capacity, obviously no one cares, yes it is frustrating

Jey Allen actually people weren't told not to travel they were simply given travel restrictions and it was recommended they not travel any further than 2 hours from home. and definitely no out-of-state traveling but that's not going to stop people and we know that. I'm not sure what the exact occupancy is for the building where Walgreens is, but I do know that more times than not they have long lines. especially on the weekends. you know as well as I do the weekends are insane up here,especially Nov thru March. Most locals make it a point not to go out on the weekends because it is a shitshow. And right now not only is it a shitshow it's a shitshow with an Uninvited Guest that goes by the name of covid-19😉?

Dee Levey yup, well I am going to look at it like this, it's Winter, Big Bear is going to be crowded, any and all orders, rules or suggestions made for health and safety WILL BE DISREGARDED AND NOT ENFORCED IN ANY WAY THAT WOULD INTERFERE WITH THE CASH FLOW OF OUR TOWN LEADERSHIP!!, so I will plan my holiday and seasonal activities around that premise 😊

Karen Lock-Clanton I removed your comments because we are all aware of the statistics they've been posted numerous times and a couple of your statistics were incorrect. Right now what's important is doing the right thing not so much for ourselves but for others and that consists of wearing a mask and social distancing when you're in public. The virus affects everybody differently so no matter what the statistics may or may not be and statistics Change Daily posting statistics is not going to change the situation we are currently living in. I posted tistics every Tuesday straight from San Bernardino County as well as our city manager

I have not seen the stats I posted on here or on any other page informing people of the numbers relating to other causes of deaths that are being attributed to the rona. My intent was simply to take away some of the fear people are having. Ty for clarifying your action.

Karen Lock-Clanton sadly when it comes to statistics the CDC as well as all the others in charge of our health and well-being change their numbers and "facts"every other day. we've all known for several months that approximately 94% of death listed as covid-19 had pre-existing underlying health issues and did not die directly from covid-19. we also know as of yesterday that 10% of the ICU beds are used by covid-19 the other 90% of ICU beds are not covid patients... and it's frustrating😥 and like all the other conspiracy theories it's posted over and over again, but the statistics don't change the fact that we're all still being asked to wear masks, we're all still being asked to social distance and now we're all on lockdown again because a lot of people cannot simply do what's asked of them if for no other reason than to make an attempt to protect other people. Because statistics or no statistics people are definitely getting sick and sadly some are dying 😥🙏in fact we had a covid related death today in our emergency room and I guarantee you the CDC hasn't added that individual to their stats 😥
