I had investigated a locking swivel solution - but it was still being researched. Early implementations had a habit of the pivot mechanism failing, causing embarrassment, discomfort and an increased risk of injury.
Such was the frequency of these occurrences, that declaration of the phrase "coming unhinged!" became familiar to all, but only the knights truly understood the implication.
As a result, amongst the greater common populace, the phrase soon became associated with an angry tirade - the knights' common reaction to such an imminent threat of embarrassment, which they used to distract attention.
So, next time you hear someone call out to a knight "You're coming unhinged" - turn not your head away in fear and trepidation, but observe and see if you can identify the circumstances in which that piece of armour is failing.
Every knight will thank you if you have a good look!!
